I would guess the countdown timer is heading for a trailer release, maybe in front of The Hobbit. |
Count me in.
|

|

It's not the "weak, frail humans" versus a monster of unknown origin. It's much cooler than that. :D |
That looks absolutely badass. Jax Teller and John Stringer Bell Luther kicking some interdimensional ass.

I feel proud to know I chimed in with Real Steel.
That's about enough for me. LMAO |
i don't give a shit about the independence day-style narrative/monologue...but giant ****ing robots and monsters + del toro = yes
|
And yet it still gets a negrep for including the ONE ****ING TONE THEMATIC BLAST that seems to be the rage nowadays. "Soundtrack? Nah, we don't need no stinkin' soundtrack! Just go... BLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGHHHHHHHHH a bunch of times..."

Speaking of which (not really, but who cares?), what ever happened to the second Cloverfield movie that was supposed to come out?
|
I like how the got GlaDOS from the Portal games to be the synthesized announcer voice.

Dude, the trailer music is completely independent of the score. The production company hires a composer or trailer house to score the trailer. |

In a 2012 interview, screenwriter Drew Goddard gave an update saying, "I'm in, I'm ready to do it...someone call J. J. and tell him to get moving, but because Matt and J. J. and I have been fortunate enough to be busy, it's hard syncing our schedules up. We're all very passionate about returning to that world." When asked if an idea is on paper, he responded: "If you asked each of us what we wanted to do, you'll get three different answers, which is how the first film was. The aesthetic of Cloverfield benefits from that. Three voices pulling it. Look, nothing would make me happier than to get the three of us in the room to get started."[85] In a later interview in April of that same year, Goddard said, "We didn’t set out to make a franchise, we set out to make a good movie. But I love that world and that universe, so if there was an idea that excited us enough, and we felt like there was a reason to do it, we would do it." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloverfield#Sequel |

Star Trek reboot, MI3 Plus he gave us Lost which was good for the first two seasons |
Edit: Oops, I just realized that the trailer was out and commented before I watched it and my comment makes no sense now....
I hope those Metal Gears beat the Monsters. Advance RIP to Idris Elba's character. |

The first 15 minutes of the "shaky camera" was horrifically bad cinema. People walked out in droves when it was in the theaters complaining of nausea. I'm sure that's exactly what Abrams had in mind. It saved them from 75 more minutes of a stupid cluster**** of a shit movie that no one in the world cares about. |

The subway scene in Cloverfield was a direct rip (setting and the small monsters) from Gamera 2: Attack of Legion. |

Holy shit!
This is soooooo corny but it looks sooooooo good! |
|
This movie is going to be ****ing epic. I can't wait.
|
Movie looks great, but why two drivers per robot? Why not one driver like in Robo Jox?
|
If I remember right, each driver controls half of the Jaeger. But maybe they just operate in synch.

I'll go see this of course and I love the concept.....but I hate the look of this thing. It looks too dark , drab and dreary.

Robotech/Voltron VS. Everything Ever in a Godzilla/Gamera movie. The only thing that could make this movie rock any more would be if I got the opportunity to tell someone "YOU SHUT YOUR WHORE MOUTH!" at some point in the theatre before seeing it... |
Needs to get brought back to the top.
One of two movies I'm looking forward to (other is Superman with mayyyybe Wolverine) Any engineers here? What kind of energy would be needed to power heavy robots to be able to do the stuff they are doing in the trailer? |
:thailor:Thought this was an Asian porn thread, movie looks good though.
