Santonio Holmes visits the Chiefs

According to a league source cited by Mike Florio of NBC’s Pro Football Talk, the Chiefs recently brought the veteran wideout in for a conversation.

However, per Florio, “he didn’t work out for the Chiefs, and it’s unclear if he’ll be offered a contract.”

jimidollar 11-15-2014 04:59 PM

Why? Did he want to see the Chiefs hall of fame?

Reerun_KC 11-15-2014 05:01 PM

He need a new bucket of aids or something?

mcaj22 11-15-2014 05:04 PM

now they go diggin on the scrap heap for WRs?

had they just drafted any WR instead of Dee Ford (there was 100 to pick from) we wouldnt even have this problem right now.

TribalElder 11-15-2014 05:06 PM

Jenkins out, Avery out. We need somebody other than Bowe and Hemingway.

I'd like to see Albert Wilson get more playing time.

Yep he ran a 4.32

Deberg_1990 11-15-2014 05:23 PM

Im not opposed to it since we are short on WRs right now.

But Reid has proven over his career he doesnt need top flight WRs to generate offense.

Hes a master at getting something out of spare parts.

early 2000s Eagles featured Todd Pinkston and James Thrash.

Todd Stinkston.

Wallcrawler 11-15-2014 05:25 PM

This is what I love about Dorsey. The guy does his diligence everywhere. In the past we never even would have considered speaking to this guy over the telephone, let alone bringing him in for a visit.

Dorsey kicked the tires, and apparently didn't like what he saw. Good enough for me. Sucks, because the guy can play and we are DESPERATE for talent at wide receiver.

Its indicative of just how far this dude has fallen when a team that is as desperate as we are for help at the position sends him packing.

GloryDayz 11-15-2014 05:25 PM

Perhaps he's in town to make a play to make love to one, or more, of our cheerleaders.....

It's anybody's game for that first TD lol. My guess is, it'll have to be a YAC TD. Alex won't throw one to a WR in the endzone.

DeAnthony Thomas doesn't count? He's listed as a RB, but he's a slot receiver that occasionally motions to the backfield tbh.

Edit: Give me Bowe beating Sherman for that first TD tomorrow. Whew.

Santonio Holmes is ****ing garbage. He would honestly be our 3rd/4th best WR when Avery comes back. And something tells me he wouldn't play special teams or do the other shit that you need 3rd/4th WRs to do.

**** this. Don't sign him.

The core of this team is strong enough to where Holmes wouldn't really affect the locker room even if he did act up at some point. They can easily just drop him.

Well yeah I know - but I'm saying no workout - is that really a lock that there's nothing that's going to happen or just a good indication? I'm just saying they could always reschedule that. IDK - Never know.... I think you're right though w/ your feeling. I just thought you'd saw something more definite. That's all. Heck you know I like your football takes, I've told you as much. ;)

Holmes should have been dropped on his head when he was a baby. It's not our job to abort him.

Stay away from this piece of shit.

Direckshun 11-16-2014 12:26 AM

I'm with OldSchool.

Normally I'm a protect-the-locker-room-above-all-else guy, but they're about to start Frankie ****ing Hammond against the ****ing Seahawks.

The locker room can withstand Holmes. I would have brought him in.

We're not exactly in a position to be picky.

Simply Red 11-16-2014 12:33 AM

I think he would have helped on the field - I absolutely do. Almost zero doubt - but like the others - the exchange of the attitude problem may offset any good little things he would have done.

I don't know...

And starting Holmes with a whole 6 days, at most, with the playbook is more beneficial? We are already scheming for our shitty oline, do we need to add a wrinkle to cover a WR who can't grasp the offense too?

He'll be a small help this week.

A bigger help in weeks to come and any conceivable playoff run.

You do know that the team currently only has 4 healthy WRs right now right? At the very least they could stand to bring in another healthy receiver.

Anyone on practice squads around the league that you would take a good long look at?

Keep ****ing doubting Fred Williams.

Gravedigger 11-16-2014 05:19 AM

It'd be funny to sign Holmes and have him be the first WR with a TD catch.

GloryDayz 11-16-2014 08:33 AM

****......every time I think that we have to start Bowe it makes me wish somebody would spike his evening drinks with some THC and stash a dime bag (in clear view on his dashboard) after he parks on the street.

JFC, prolly another week with no WR TDs in KC, in large part to that stone-hands, "catch-the-ball-with-his-pads" (not his hands!!) piece of shit...

chiefzilla1501 11-19-2014 12:34 AM

I dunno... I look at how the Pacers fell apart when they traded for Evan Turner. How the A's fell apart after making a ton of midseason trades. Don't want to bring in someone who can disrupt a good thing. A solid role player is one thing. A guy with a long track record of attitude problems? No thanks.
