JPP isn't good, so I don't know why anyone would expect to all of the sudden become the 10+ sack guy again. Those days are long gone.

You may be right. And this move now could be emotionally priming the Giant fan base ahead of time for their choice of Chubb at 2 if it does happen. Because the brass knows bypassing a QB or Barkeley will have some serious explaining to do IF this move does not occur.

He had 8.5 last year and 7 the previous year

Last year was his last gasp. He did not want to go to Tampa and I expect the effort to not be there.
