Ravens Fire Cam Cameron
Matt Vensel @mattvensel
It's official. Cam Cameron is gone. |
deserved
|
Daboll: still employed.
|
wow, he isn't the best in the world, but a far cry better than Daboll and Daboll still has a job?
|
again....Chiefs ownership/management are pussies.
|
Just a victim of the "Average" that is Joe Flacco....

The Chiefs should've made the decision a month ago. Now, perception is killing them.
I'm fine with them waiting etc. Just sayin the come off as pussies...more so than usual. |

There's ABSOLUTELY zero functional reason to fire anybody now. And placating the fans is not a functional reason. |
Quote:
It's the Chiefs. |
Wow 18th in yards. 15th in passing. 17th rushing. 9th scoring.
Flacco 11th in yards and a rating of 87. Rice 10th in rushing tied for 4th in tds. Something else had to be going on to get fired. |
Flacco's eyebrows made the final decision.

You can't fire a coordinator mid-season, it creates too much disruption and upheaval.
|
Yup
I would love to see Clark and Pioli put this turd on the field in Philly, or NY. |
I haven't paid a lick of attention to the Ravens. What did he do that was so egregious? I thought everybody liked him there.
|
Quote:
Wait...that seems wrong. Cameron's a good OC. Though, in defense of the Ravens here, Cameron has lost track of Ray Rice a few times this year. That's a pretty egregious screwup. |
Cameron was fired because his bosses want to get better at that position.
Daboll hasn't been fired because his bosses are busy looking for jobs. |
Quote:
9wins. Division leader and half of thier losses the d got rocked. So that example does not really vibe. |
That's what happens when you repeatedly give Ray Rice 9 carries in a game.
|
Jim Caldwell has been promoted to OC.
ROFL |
It will be interesting to hear some reasons why Cameron was fired. I guess it was his job to stop RGIII/Cousins after his O put up 28 points. Scapegoat! At 9-4? :spock:
|
There's your next QB coach.
|
Daboll thinks Cameron is a dumb shit
|
Quote:
The Ravens disagree with your logic. |
Don't the Ravens have a looming showdown with Joe Flacco's contract?
It's entirely possible this was an appeasement deal - trying to win favor with Flacco in an effort to ease up on his demands a bit. |
I'm sure CHunt will have another press conference! And like RC, do nothing more than a quick recap of what we just saw (as if we didn't see it!!) and tell us again how the things his team does isn't going to win games. I thin they need another meaningless sign in the locker room!
|
Quote:
The Chiefs are 2-11 and looking to improve EVERY coaching position. There's absolutely NO COMPARISON between the 2 situations so what the Ravens think about my logic concerning the Chiefs is 100% irrelevant. |

Sometimes they get away from the run, but if the defense is puking up scores, you have to pass, or end up like the chiefs with 0 margin for error, Seemed to me like he wasn't doing a bad job, but like I said, I haven't paid attention to the Ravens at all. |
i would take Cam Cameron

If Pioli was staying i think there would be some coaching changes during the season. They still could happen but it's looking more and more like a house cleaning. |
I've watched a lot of the Ravens games this year. For some reason, even when Ray Rice is gaining 5+ YPC he'll keep calling passes over and over again.

The reason everyone from Pioli down has not been fired midseason is that from an organizational standpoint it looks BAD.
It looks reactionary and unstable. You take your lumps with the guys you chose, then you fire them after the season and choose new guys. Nobody wants to take the job with the unstable, freak-out-and-fire-everybody owner. The fans would love it if Clark held a press conference and showed up, red faced and screaming, firing everybody and calling them worthless pieces of shit. However, nobody competent would ever, ever come here afterwards. It's politics. You project that you are a steady ship looking for a better captain and you'll be able to hire well. |
There is going to be an impressive list of offensive coordinators that will 9Most likely) be available for next season
Cam Cameron Andy Reid Ken Whisenhunt Norf Turner Nowhere to go but up. |

especially since Daboll/Crennel are 1st year guys at their positions for us |

No to Cameron or Whisenhunt

Of those guys, I'd like Turner. He's got experience coaching up QB's (Aikman, Rivers) and I like his vertical take on offense.
|
Quote:
seems to me that Whisenhunt likes the quick, timing passing game. I would think that Geno would fit best in an offense that takes advantage of his superior deep passing. |
heh, i know alot of fans hate to hear this, but Andy Reid is the most proven guy who will be available whith a history of success with young QBs.

I don't like the dual roles much Don't want my HC to have player personnel or be a coordinator. |

There is ZERO reason to evaluate any of them. They all need to be fired with Pioli. |
Quote:
But yeah, anyone Pioli brought in needs axe. |

Ray Farmer is highly respected as well but it sounds like no one wants to hire him away because they fear he is sorta toxic right now working under this Chiefs front office led by Pioli.
|
Quote:
During that time, the Chiefs have compiled an impressive 38-71 record. I'm surprised nobody wants to hire him away. |
Bears hired Phil Emery and he's working out ok so far
|

whenever i watched the ravens, they were using Rice as a decoy or a blocking back while throwing some very low percentage pass routes regardless of situation....
it just seemed clumsy... |
Quote:
Are you even serious?? There isn't a sarcasm font, you know... |
Quote:
I find it impossible to imagine Andy Reid being an OC again. |

people just making shit up |

38-71. |

It's much more likely that his job performance is effecting his job offers instead of some make-believe Pioli crap. |

The Ravens are making the playoffs so there's an incentive to fire one or two coaches now as opposed to firing them after the regular season and still having a plyiff game later that week.
Chiefs don't have any incentive to fire anyone now. Might as well let everyone stay these next 3 weeks and totally clean house on black Monday. Posted via Mobile Device |

Ravens fans hate Cam as much as we hate Dabol. I'm inclined to believe them.

I have to watch flaco everyweek. He sort of mopes around the sidelines by himself and plays football like he's bored and confused. The writing was on the wall for cam cameron when he was forced to drop their dogsht no huddle offense two weeks ago. No question Flaco probably whined to ownership.
|
Quote:
I think you were confusing your favorite pr0n actor Peter Norf? DT |
Flacco is average. Baltimore needs to move beyond him.
|
Hopefully this weakens them for their next game.
|
I'm all for organizations that take action but this is assinine. Nobody's ever heard of a team that wins their division fire their OC 3 weeks before the playoffs.
This is just another example of how the Harbaugh brothers are a couple of dicks. |
