He does deserve to be in the discussion somewhere, though I would still contend that Eddie Murphy's star shines too brightly. His fading career probably costs him a lot of votes among the under-40 population, and rightly so, but at his peak he was unparalleled.

I haven't watched 1 show from the Not Ready for Prime Time Players or Digital Kids era.

Kristen Wiig has never been funny ever on any show. She's beyond terrible.

I personally believe Eddie Murphy is one of the most overrated people in comedy. Bill Murray is ok, I guess, but I can't really think of anything beyond Groundhog Day and I don't even consider that movie particularly funny.

I just think its funny that Al Franken is a 15 seed.

Hey, I thought the Miller's Crossing scene was hilarious. It was right up there with Abbott and Costello.

How old are you? People over 45 saw the riotously funny Eddie Murphy. People under 45 saw the other one.

I could see this breaking as the argument about old school vs new, as in arguing about sports greats. As one who witnessed the original SNL, it's very hard to believe anyone could beat Belushi, Hartman, Curtain, or Farley.

Belushi is my favorite, FWIW.

I take it that we should judge by the work that was done on SNL and not subsequent shows.
