***Mid-round QBs: Who do we draft?***

I didn't put "OFFICIAL" at the beginning of this one. :D

Now that it seems that the majority here are finally accepting the fact we aren't drafting Geno..it's time to look towards the next option.

Now I am confident we will draft a QB at some point in the draft. Who do you think Dorseid will target?

Not who you want...but who you think fits their system they are running here? Will they target a WCO QB like Barkley [If he has an Aaron Rodgers type of drop]. I have a sick feeling we will nab Laundry Jones in the 4th. :#

I like Dysert/Bray/Wilson, but I think they are going to go after more of a WCO type of QB.

ChiefMojo 04-18-2013 09:38 AM

Dysert, Wilson and Scott would be possibilities. Jordan Rodgers is the only one I would touch later than that.

RealSNR 04-18-2013 09:40 AM

I'm rather fond of NoJuan Curr out of Jizzfarts Tech

KC_Lee 04-18-2013 09:40 AM

I've said throughout this off season I'd love to see KC take Bray in the 3rd. I know he's a knucklehead and at times cannot hit the broadside of a barn.

But, I've always thought that if he could sit for a couple of years and learn from a great QB-centric coach Bray could be a good, maybe even show flashes of greatness, QB.

I also can see Bray flamming out in spectacular fashion as well. He has boom or bust written all over him, no in between.

Bump 04-18-2013 09:41 AM

did anybody watch Landry Jones Gruden QB camp? The things he says just sound like he expects to be good without trying very hard. DO NOT WANT.

Mr. Laz 04-18-2013 09:42 AM

I still like Wilson and would of liked to grab him in the 2nd if we didn't draft Geno Smith.

but the Alex Smith trade screwed that up too

Will Wilson fall to the 3rd?

ChiefMojo 04-18-2013 09:44 AM

We have 3.1 so anything is possible. I think at least four QB's go in front of Wilson.

Sweet Daddy Hate 04-18-2013 10:09 AM

None please.

Wilson will fall to the 4th.

Nobody wants him.

Deberg_1990 04-18-2013 10:17 AM

Nassib in the 2nd

I don't understand it.

patteeu 04-18-2013 10:24 AM

My guess is Landry Jones. My preference would be Scott, if he's around in the later rounds. I like the idea of Dysert for some reason, but I'm not sure he's really what they're looking for.

I don't particularly want them to use their 2nd (Miami) or 3rd on a QB, unless their favorite guy falls to them in the 2nd (Geno?). I'd rather use those picks on a potential starter-quality player for the defense (or receiver).

I don't understand it.

Guys like Manuel, Nassib, Glennon, Bray, Dysert, and Scott have all created a lot more buzz than Wilson has, and have actually done something positive either in their interviews, workouts, or combine. Since the Senior Bowl, Wilson has been stinking it up. His Gruden QB camp special wasn't all that impressive either, and the interview was supposed to be the thing he was really good at. He DID look better than Landry Jones and Tyler Bray, though, I'll give him that.

Combined with Geno and Barkley, it's looking like Wilson will be around the 6th or 7th QB taken in this draft. He'll beat out a few of the guys I just listed, but many of them (especially guys like Dysert) are going to easily leapfrog him. Glennon, Nassib, and Manuel are pretty much locks to get picked before Wilson. Usually that ranking is right around a 4th round pick.

But hey, with the way the middle/back end of this QB class is all in one lump, we might just see a whole cluster of them get drafted in one shabang in the 2nd or 3rd round. Wilson might be in the conversation there.

Again, I have no ****ing clue. The draft is a weird thing, and it only takes one team to completely shatter a prediction. We'll see I suppose.

Sweet Daddy Hate 04-18-2013 10:46 AM

I refuse to debate a bunch of ****ing scrubs. Go big or go home.

Hopefully it's Barkley at the top of the 2nd.

We basically would've traded Albert for Barkley at that point. I could at least rationalize that in my head and have some legitimate hope that Barkley can be our QBoTF.

I like the idea of taking Scott, too. He's got a lot of upside and could develop into a very good player, IMO.

I'd be happy with this, but I don't think Barkley lasts that long. Assuming we get Miami's second, many of the teams that pick ahead of us in the second will still probably be looking for a QB. We'd have to jump them to get a shot at him.

B14ckmon 04-18-2013 11:02 AM

If it makes you feel any better, both of our teams will be taking some piece of shit overrated mid round QB. No one but Geno is worth drafting this year.

Good project. Although got benched for Foles at Arizona.

Most likely a 5-7 rnd pick

Imon Yourside 04-26-2013 06:26 AM

Do not want Nassib.

ChiliConCarnage 04-26-2013 06:28 AM

I don't think they'll take a QB in this draft. Why would they? They gave a first round value for their QBOTF Smiff and threw 3 million bucks at Chase ****ing Daniel. They have two new quarterbacks to evaluate and work with already

The fact that they haven't extended Smith is kind of telling, that they realize they need to go elsewhere, soon. They have a two year window to groom a replacement.

You would hope that they realize the talent level on this team and understand that they won't be picking in this position again in the near future, at least with the Chiefs. Therefore, you would have to assume that they are looking at a mid round developmental QB.

Who? I have no clue, but that is how we are currently set up.

Mr_Tomahawk 04-26-2013 07:05 AM

We will take a QB this draft.

I don't want any part of Geno and never have. I would not be surprised is another QB is taken before him. I'm betting they go with Tyler Wilson.

I think they'll take whichever of the following guys falls to the 5th or later, in this order.

Matt Barkley
Tyler Wilson
Landry Jones
Matt Scott

As I mentioned earlier, I think it will be Landry Jones.

Discuss Thrower 04-26-2013 08:34 AM

Don't bother. Team has way more important holes that need to be filled for Alex's first round playoff win run in 2014.

wazu 04-26-2013 08:40 AM

Geno.

Bump 04-26-2013 08:43 AM

We coulda ****ing had Fisher AND Geno. JFC.

If you really wanted to only debate "big" at the QB position, you'd refuse to discuss any QB in the 2013 draft and keep talking about 2012.

Since you didn't seem to "go home" this draft season, maybe you could realize that there are no "big" QB prospects in 2013.

Beef Supreme 04-26-2013 08:54 AM

Chiefs aren't taking a QB in this draft.

Given that they seem to genuinely follow a BPA strategy, I don't think you can really tell which round they will take a QB in. If they end up with a 2nd round pick and they had Geno on their board in the top 25 players, I could see them taking him because he's the BPA.

bigdaddychieffan 04-26-2013 09:01 AM

I think it will be Landry Jones. He is smart but needs time to develope and probably won't pan out. Our pick for sure.

FishingRod 04-26-2013 09:19 AM

Wouldn’t mind Zach Dysert if he is still around in the Fourth. Would prefer they find a way to get a 2nd and get Geno

Good point, but I think most of the QBs in the first four rounds will be taken too early.

ChiefaRoo 04-26-2013 09:22 AM

Barrett Jones/true fan

KevB 04-26-2013 09:29 AM

I would be shocked if they didn't take a QB in this draft. Both GB and Philly had success drafting QB's even if a starting guy was already in place. Draft him, develop him, and if there isn't an opening to play....trade him. Even if it's a 6th/7th round guy like Matt Flynn was to GB, we'll grab one.

MahiMike 04-26-2013 09:30 AM

We'll definitely get a QB to replace Stanzi.

Yea because going into the draft we would have no starting QB, drafted a LT and known Geno was going to be there at 33.

Think about it.

I'm still going with Sean Renfree in the 5th. I don't think we get back into the 2nd round.

We still have no starting QB. We have alex smith and chaise mcdaniels competing for the top backup on the field position.

Geno will be the first pick tonight. I have officially given up on that dream now...
