Are you happy with the Andy Reid hire?
I think most of us are happy with the hire, but I want to gauge the non vocal approval of this hire as well as the overall approval.
|
Yes. I like that it came first out of some other really attractive jobs out there. Shows Clark was serious and that KC is a desirable destination in spite of the past four years.
|
For me it still comes down to the QBotf we get. I just hope it a draft pick with our #1. If we get Geno I am going be super happy.
|
not real excited, but he definitely brings credibility we haven't had here for a long time.
|
As good a hire as Clark could reasonably make.
|
Wasn't crazy about it when the name first surfaced but the more i think about it the more i like. No more dealing with Daboll or other inept Pioli hirings................. atleast i hope. I am anxious to see how Andy's staff turns out to be!
|
Of the retreads Cowher, Gruden, Billick, and Reid, I was most excited about Reid.
At first I would have much rather focused on getting a quality GM over a big name head coach. Now it appears we will get both if Dorsey is signed aboard. I'd call this a dream come true |
I could have seen andy reid taking a year off, but am hoping this is the change of scenery he needs. We sure as hell needed it. Mostly happy.
|
Hey, Boss, given your avatar....and the fact that Philly supposedly wanted to draft McCluster, but we beat them to it....ya think Andy might be willing to give him a new shot? Heh. Your thoughts?
:hmmm: |
If the Chiefs can secure John Dorsey this goes from a very good to a home run hire.
|
Wow I have never seen a clean sweep before after so many votes.

I was pretty skeptical of Reid when his name first popped up, but the more I think about it, the happier I am. I hope the other pieces fall into place the way it seems like they might. |
Yes very excited and happy! To be honest I figured we were going to screw this search up somehow and end up with some NFL assistant. Not that it could have turned out bad in that aspect but we needed a splash hire... we did that with Andy Reid!

Very happy and excited about our new HC. 2 clowns down... 1 left to go.
|
I like Andy Reid as a person so I'm happy either way. This board is a lot more entertaining when the team is losing though and I recognize the reality that Andy gradually had his power taken away in Philly and was eventually ran out of town. His personnel decisions were extremely questionable and he has very weak areas as a coach. I'll be happy for him if he does well but it'll also be funny watching this board get riled up the way they did over Pioli if he starts to do what Philly fans think he will.
The combination of Reid and Chilly could create a level of entertainment never before seen on CP. |
I'm happy with the hire, but I give it 1.5 games before he is getting crushed on here for clock mgmt/play selection. It's just the way fans are.

Clark Hunt new what he wanted in a HC and got the coach that most qualified for the job from what he was looking for. I'm happy with the hire today. Good job Mr. Clark Hunt.
Get us a QB that can put us on top of the mountain. |
Holy shit. I've never seen 53 consecutive 'yes' votes on anything here.
If you start a poll that says "Are blowjobs good", some dickhead will say "Nah, never been able to get off on one" and vote no before it gets to 53 consecutive yes votes. So the takeaway? Andy Reid: More popular than blowjobs. |
i was skeptical at first but its growing on me. walrus bring us the lombardi trophy please.
|
I've had an erection for more than 4 hours. :(

Yes. This is a good hire. It makes a lot of sense and should make us a stronger team.
|
My first choice was pairing Chip Kelly with Geno Smith, but I knew Clark wouldn't go with that. Considering, I'm extremely happy with the Reid hire.... now I'm concerned with what QB he is going to go with.
There are NO QB's worth getting from other teams, ie: (Alex Smith, Matt Flynn, Mike Vick) He better draft a QB. |

Yes, It's the right type of hire for now.
We are in shambles and need to start to walk again before we begin to run. We need Reid to stop the bleeding and get us back to being a playoff level team. Then if we don't think Reid can take the next step we take a shot at a guy like Chip Kelly. |

I don't want to have this thread derailed by Dexter talk...if you want to bump a Dexter thread, I'd be glad to discuss him there. |
I'm reserving judgement for now. Need to see the coaching staff and front office and personnel moves. I was excited four years ago about Pioli, and all it netted me was Todd Haley and Matt Cassel. So as good as it might sound on paper, I'm not getting super excited yet...
|
holy shit I've never seen a poll that was 64-0 before.
well this is nice because at least, in 4 years, if the shit hits the fan again we can all agree that we all agreed Clark did the right thing |
Wow, 100% on this board. That never happens. Have to say I would have preferred Chip Kelly but Reid is very solid.
Our new Marty. |

75 yes votes in a row.
Has to be a CP first. |

79 yes, 0 no enough said, Reid is a proven winning coach with something KC hasn't seen in a long time Playoff wins. I'm excited about this hire, our Offense is good just have problems with finding the end zone consistently, I think he can give them the push they need to succeed

Wow, I was expecting a lot more negative votes too.

The ample number of women on the board might skew the blow job vote so you could be right... :D |

The Gaz vote doesn't count.
|
I voted no, not really because I am against the hire, but it's not a slam dunk.
|
and the dream of reaching 100-0 dies, stopped at 85-1

But seeing as how Clark moved aggressively and decisively to fix the problem, and hired probably the best available person who meets Clark's new management philosophy, I am pleased. |

wow, what a hilarious WIN of a poll you know, had Pioli been ANYTHING LESS THAN TOTAL ABYSMAL FAILURE...this would have been, you know, 80/20... but instead, Pioli made us all HATE the Chiefs SO MUCH that Reid comes in to a fan base that would literally felate him upon command. He's going to be the toast of KC for at least a season, regardless of results. |

I think it will make the Chiefs relevant again, I'm not sure he takes us to the ship!
I would have taken Chip Kelly but understand Clark wasn't willing to take that risk with an unproven NFL coach right now. Maybe after Reid gets this thing going again some young gun will finish the job. |
Quote:
:p question didn't say 'slam dunk' it said 'happy' Reid was really the best we could hope for right now so everyone should be happy about it. Reid > Crennel |

I'm seriously considering banning LA Chieffan for being a douche. If someone starts a poll, I'll follow the results. Promise.
|
Damn, Bwana vs Clay in the Planeteer Death match (or whatever it was called) wouldn't have been this lopsided.
|
I'll be honest. I'm not all that excited with Reid. But I wouldn't say he's a bad choice. He's a lot better than what we had.
For now, I'll go with "meh." |

I just couldn't stand this much solidarity on a Chiefs Message Board about the hiring. It just didn't feel right. Poll needed a blemish. |
this is a great day in this board's history
the last time I can remember it being ANYWHERE CLOSE TO THIS was draft weekend 2008 but even then we had SOME naysayers remarkable...we can thank Scott for this. If he didn't totally ruin our entire franchise and make us the worst team of our lifetime (or maybe anybody's lifetime), we wouldn't be able to cherish this day the way we are THANKS, SCOTT! AND DAMNIT CARL!!! |

You keep trying until you get it right. And note this time, he changed directions. He believes he's learned from his mistake. We'll see. But I like what he's doing. Hope the results reflect it. |
The difference is, this time he went and got a guy with actual experience. We know what Reid has done and what he's been responsible for.
Pioli was a hot name, thats about it. No one outside the circle really knew what he had been in charge of. |
