I'm impressed with David Shaw
Luck is gone along with Fleener and this guy takes his team up to Eugene and totally stuffs the best offense in college football. Plus he has NFL experience.
I've been impressed with him for the last 2 years. Really hope we give him a look. |

A look at what? Head coach?
Uhh... no. |

I do like that he was at one point a Quality Control coach for a few years in the NFL. That's always a plus.
|
Personally, I like the fact that Stanford finally beat Oregon w/out Luck.

QB coach for Jon Gruden and Rich Gannon WR/QB coach in Baltimore and OC under Harbaugh Sounds like he's had good teachers. I hope we give him a look. |
I wouldn't hate it.

He needs to be in the discussion.
Why is Shaw, 2 years removed from Harbaugh reaping the benefits of his coaching? Recruiting? Fine, but in the NFL, dollars recruit. He's had NFL experience around some pretty good HC's. I take that as a positive that he coached under Harbaughs, and Gruden. He's maintained the same toughness (I think they are actually a more physical team now). I'd take him in a second. |
David Shaw:
Played under Bill Walsh at Stanford NFL QB Coach NFL WR Coach Coached under Harbaugh/Gruden/Billick (as TBG said) 20-4 as a head coach Helped develop/coach Andrew Luck And for the purposes of the "true fan" old-timers who think everyone has to have a connection to KC, his dad was a coach for the Chiefs. |
I think he would deserve a look. They actually went into Notre Dame's house and beat them too. Doesn't show up in their win column... or Notre Dame's loss column, but everyone knows who won that game outside of a couple of people.
Dude deserves to be on the short list. |
I still lean towards Chip Kelly.
But Shaw would be strong, IMO. |

Chip Kelly.
Need someone that demands perfection on offense. The sad SAD shit show we've seen since 2006 has to stop. |
He is still running with Harbaugh's guys and system.
I wonder how much is him and how is just Harbaugh 'linger' |

Maintaining is not nearly as difficult as building Hell maybe Shaw was the backbone for Harbaugh the whole time. |
I figured people here would think he's too conservative. He's done a great job though. To shut down a Chip Kelly offense like last night is impressive.

Replaced him a couple of weeks ago with a redshirt freehman, and still winning. Given the loss of Luck, the guy has done a stellar job of maintaining. |
Another thing to consider is the fact that most of us, if not all of us, wnat to see this team recreate the hostile environment for opposing teams that Arrowhead provided in the 90s.
You do that by playing the physical brand of football that Stanford plays. |
He's not afraid to replace a shitty qb.
That in and of itself should be enough to win hearts here in KC. |
