After spending a couple of hours messing with this, I'm much happier with the Pomona Platypi. The team is fairly strong outside of a couple spots, it was simply poor management that cost us last year. The GM has been notified that he's going to be on a damn short leash and I expect the team to do much better than 8-8 in the coming season.
|
The Pomona Platypi are looking for a good OLB or WR if anyone is in a dealing mode.
I have a plethora of pieces that may fit for you. Among the better ones are Jake Long, Deuce Lutui, Domata Peko, Roy Miller, Jonathan Joseph, and Brandon Carr. I have the #11 pick in the draft and would be willing to move either up or down depending on what you have to work with. |
Here's the list of teams if you want to put it in the header.

Anchorage has strong needs at WR, CB, FS, and OLB. We have a good RT available (either Todd Herremans or David Stewart), and a good MLB available (either Paris Lenon or Bruce Carter). We could part with NT Shaun Cody as well.
|
I (the Provo Lone Wolf Pack, which by the way, is the awesomest name in either league) has needs at the following positions:
QB RB OT OG C WR TE NT DT OLB MLB S CB K P KR PR That is all. |
Lubbock Knuckle Draggers have needs at QB, RT and OLB. We have a G available.

EagleRob, check your messages on the Sandbox site.
|
As a reminder to everybody, get your draft boards ready. The draft starts on Friday at noon CST.
|
Seattle Undertakers:
I have Flacco and Kaepernick. I may be willing to trade one of these for the right deal. I also have several TE's and SS's which I would be willing to trade. I have a great need for WR's. |

Will the 60 minute time limit be cut off at a certain time during the middle of the night or will it still be active?
|
I haz a feeling that Eagle Rob is being inundated with offers for the #1 overall. It also seems quite possible that a team is about to acquire enough ammunition to make the move up.

Pomona Platypi are looking to trade a #1 CB (B. Carr) for a good WR.

The Los Angeles Knights will trade Center Todd McClure for a starting quality CB.
|
Pomona Platypi are pleased to announce our new #1 WR Dez Bryant formerly of the Pompano Beach Pandas. It is with sadness that we say goodbye to Brandon Carr and Ben Obomanu (well, more Brandon than Ben) and wish them success in the future against all non-Platypi opponents.

Okay everyone, we're getting ready to start. Keep your League 2 discussions here instead of in the main thread, so we don't have any confusion between the leagues.
As a note, I may reserve the right to intervene as an administrator if I see someone missing picks. In that case I'll give them one of the top three picks still eligible from the NFL draft. |
Has anyone picked in this league yet?

Why 60 minutes for each draft pick?
What happens if a GM doesn't pick anyone in that time frame since the auto pick isn't selected? Does the computer just pick the next player that was drafted by an NFL team? Patiently waiting... |
Okay, with these top picks I'll step in for an absentee owner. Manually take RGIII off the board and he'll go to the Aurora Borealis. Please don't select RGIII from this point on, and let's keep going.
|
ABORT FOR THE MOMENT.
My apologies, but we need to address a couple of things, and cdcox isn't available. I would normally say that we should just keep going, but we need to have an autodraft function or the early teams are going to get really screwed. |
Sorry. Let's go back to the huddle and restart this thing at noon CST on Monday. Sorry for the problems.
|
both leagues?
|
Yeah, both leagues.
As an explanation, we're still learning how to manage this, and I see a problem. If a team misses a high draft pick, they get kinda screwed. I don't really care from a player's standpoint if they screw themselves, but it's bad from a league standpoint because it can lead to some teams being really weak. We kind of had the problem in the initial draft and partially overrode it manually. We're going to build in an override at some point that will just award the team the highest NFL draft pick still available. I figured I could manually implement it if need be at this point, but we just got a system for me to override a team last night, and there seems to be a problem. I wasn't expecting to have to use it on a top-five pick, which was happening in both leagues, but those teams really need to receive those picks from a league equity standpoint. We can restart once I can get the override system fixed. Again, sorry for the false start. |
Cool, sounds good. As it's still in beta, you're obviously still learning (I would hope), and though I can't speak for anyone else I agree with the idea of (if I'm reading it correctly) "time out and your given the guy you had highest on your pre-picked list and if you don't have a pre-picked list then it defaults to the highest guy taken in the actual draft".
My comment in post #105 in the other thread was only due to the fact that it seemed like you would be setting yourself up for issues in the future. While changes are being made is there a way to add a countdown timer to teams that are on the clock? /quickly ducks and runs |
Quote:
1. You pick or autopick. 2. If you don't have autopick on and you have a draft board, you get the top guy on that list. 3. If none of the above, you get the highest guy left from the NFL draft, regardless of position or need. We just have to manually do it now and I think I'm screwing it up somehow because I can't get in. I like the countdown clock. We need to do that. |
wtf?
I thought the thing said it started at 4:00 today, I was on earlier today and I didnt see that it had started yet and the person I was going to take was manually taken off the board..? glad we are restarting |
Keep reading.
|
So when can we expect this restart to happen so we wheel and deal picks and players?
|
Jason Avant is on the trading block.

There's a good chance I can have the countdown clock working as well. |

|
No huge surprises so far. It's a quarterback league.
|
Deal couldn't be hammered out, so Bobby Wagner is off the board at #11
|
Defense is making a run. Three of the last four picks.
|
What is the breakdown? Interesting to see how the picks differ.

12 picks in League 2 so far, 8 on offense and 4 on defense. |
How come it shows me having eric berry but wont let me start him? Cause he was injured in 2011?

With few overt holes in their lineup, Independence is in a good spot to pick. It appears that their bigger areas of need include WR, SS, and some upgrades at HB.
|
Independence took Poe
Provo Lone took Blackmon Pembroke Pines on the clock |
I didn't want to pick barron but I thought I need a good safety next to Berry
|
And with the 15th and 16th picks, we see TY Hilton and Fletcher Cox go onto the stage.

Hood Starz owner let me know he'll be picking in about 30 minutes.
|
When does the draft pause for the evening (and when does it resume) or is it a 24 hour deal?

Hmm. Sorry - we don't have an exact time, but cdcox thinks it'll go until about 10. He can't access the code from work. He'll post it once he gets home. |
any owner with a pick coming up want to trade down? League 2
|
Coples and Hightower off the board at #17 and 18
|
Aurora borealis GM EBOLAPOX is fairly happy. he nabbed two starters with his two first round picks, and another when he traded for dashon goldson. with any luck, I'll be able to get a few more starters with picks 42 and 50. LOT of talent still on the board.
|
Rancho Cucamonga had a big debate between Bernard Pierce or Michael Brockers. We're hoping that Pierce can step up when DeMarco Murray goes down at some point with an injury.
|
Good Lord, League 2 approaching pick 20?
