Michael Bennett Available via Trade?
His contract is surprisingly cheap for a three time pro bowler, wonder what it would take? He is also 32, so maybe too old for Veach?

I'd be all for it at a decent price. I know the defense needs to get younger overall, but another veteran presence would seem nice.
|
Bennie Logan II. No.
|
Too much baggage, and his production could fall off a cliff in no time.
Not really a scheme fit. Takes dumb penalties and is more social activist than football player now. Pass. |
He would be a good player
But we'll probably sign a cheaper, less controversial player |
LMAO

HELL NO. Anywhere but Kansas City for the has been

Funny I just talked to a friend of mine who's a Seahawks fan who was desperately hoping that they would get rid of him.
I wouldn't touch him for anything. |

You do realize Bennett's claims could have jeopardized the careers of the police officers involved right? |
He's old, more suited for the 4-3, and can no longer play inside and out like he used to.
|
TRADED -- to the Iggles.
Seattle sends Bennett and a 7 to Philly in exchange for a 5th round pick. |

You think Seattle is too cowardly to keep talented, outspoken players? Haven't they pretty much been the poster boys for keeping precisely that type of player? The problem is that they are blowing things up and probably are envisioning a year or two to recalibrate, and players that can't help them in, say, 2019, are being jettisoned now for value so they can rebuilt. |

He's going to contribute to an already stacked (and opinionated, as it so happens) Eagles team, and they're gonna steamroll teams like the Chiefs who prefer things to be quiet and safe and white-friendly at the expense of talent |

Again, his outspokenness was a direct factor in him getting traded. Do you think trading good players (even if they're older) to "quiet things down" is how you win football games? |

Pederson out here making moves while we trade the best corner and a draft pick for a can of Spaghetti O’s.

Bennett had a productive season. So did Peters. And then they got traded because they're "toxic". Toxic to whom? Not their teammates; both players were well-regarded. No, they're only toxic to the old white ****ers who buy season tickets and make owners richer. Back to my original point: trading these players away for peanuts is not how you build a winning team. The Eagles and Rams and anyone else who is on the receiving ends of these trades are going to see their "risk" pay off, while the other teams are going to have mediocre quiet seasons that let them sell tickets to conservative suburbanites. |

Michael Bennett, Fletcher Cox, Brandon Graham, and Vinny Curry combined 2018 cap hit: - $42.4M (23.9% of the cap) - #Eagles (with Bennett) are around $15M *over* the cap More roster tweaks are coming in Philly |

Jesus. 1. His PFF grade for 2017 was 80.6, which was 36th at his position group. Slightly above average. 2. He is 32 years old, and will be 33 by the end of this upcoming season. His best days are behind him, and he is more likely to drop down to average, at best. 3. He was owed a $3 million roster bonus in a couple weeks. His salary cap number was $7.4 million for this year. Pretty high for a slightly above average guy. By cutting him, they save $2.2 million on the cap this year, and more next year. 4. Seattle has pretty clearly determined that the window of time to win championships with the current group of guys, who carried them to multiple super bowls, is over, and that it's time to rebuild around Russell Wilson. 5. They obviously had some serious issues getting over their SB loss to the Patriots. It apparently resulted in some players resenting Pete Carroll, and/or Wilson. It was disruptive and divisive to the team. AN NFL TEAM CANNOT WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS IF IT IS FULL OF INTERNAL SQUABBLING. 6. It's pretty damn clear that Schneider/Carroll know what they're doing. Think their credentials trump yours by just a smidge. |

The eagles got lucky with a bunch of vet signings last year - kinda like the royals in 2015 - and are rolling the dice. Bennett isn't elite anymore.
The seahawks are going young. |
Quote:
Seattle is a very progressive area and Pete Carroll has never had an issue working with players that have attitudes or stances. I think this a team moving on from an aging player and basically shutting the door on this group. |

The most sacks he had in a season was only 10.0 He is a great run stopper though |

District Attorney of Harris
County, Texas announced it has indicted Eagles’ DE Michael Bennett for felony charge for injuring a 66-year-old paraplegic working at NRG Stadium to control access to field at SuperBowl LI. A warrant has been issued for Bennett’s arrest. |
Lol. Good trade.

Injuring an elderly paraplegic? What a piece of shit human being. Lock the ****er up and then he can become another “statistic” so many of these assholes are protesting about. Turd. |

Injured a 66 year old paraplegic?
WOW If anyone had any doubts about this guy being a piece of shit, this should settle it once and for all |
Pushed through security to get onto the field after the superbowl and one of the guards happened to be a 66 year old paraplegic and fell down.
Still an asshole move for someone that has a bit of self entitlement to do that, but not quite like they saw some old cripple and smacked them down some steps or anything. |

That's a lawsuit just waiting to happen. |
Traded last week and indicted today? That's some serious serendipity, bad karma or sly work from the Seahags front office. Jeff Lurie is chocking down some nitroglycerin tabs about now... Not good news for a team that's dead last in cap space and just lost a guy that's counting $6,650,000 against the cap...and was supposed to be a cornerstone in their defense. Not to mention they gave up their 5th rounder and WR Marcus Johnson. (Compensatoin too small for Bennett? :hmmm: )
https://nbcprofootballtalk.files.wor...0&h=316&crop=1 Eagles defensive end Michael Bennett was indicted by a grand jury today in Houston on a felony charge of injury of the elderly, stemming from an incident at last year’s Super Bowl. Bennett, who played for the Seahawks at the time and was attending the Patriots-Falcons Super Bowl as a spectator while his brother Martellus Bennett played for the Patriots, is accused of rushing the field after the game and pushing a 66-year-old paraplegic woman who was working at the stadium. According to the indictment, Bennett was told he couldn’t access the field from the place where he was trying to gain entry, and instead of complying he pushed the woman aside, injuring her. There is no word on the nature of the woman’s injuries, and there has been no explanation about why it took 13 months for charges to be brought. It is unclear whether the Seahawks and Eagles knew about the incident when Bennett was traded from Seattle to Philadelphia last week. The NFL could discipline Bennett under the league’s personal conduct policy, regardless of the outcome of the criminal case. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...elderly-woman/ |
I wonder if JJ Watt had been the guy who did this if he'd have an indictment for his arrest today....?
|
when reached for comment, Bennett claimed he himself was pushed by a Grey Alien, which cause him to fall into the paralyzed woman.
|
Wasn't he up for Man of The Year?

No video, word of a multi-millionaire vs. word of an off duty cop and paraplegic "security" woman.
This should end well. |
