Craziest Physical Freak On Chiefs Defense?
We have some choices...Dontari Poe, Justin Houston...or THIS kid? Our 7th round pick! :hmmm: This D is exciting. With this freak and an improved Poe plus pro bowl caliber guys in Houston, Hali, Berry, Flowers and Johnson...could be best D in football. But from a physical standpoint size/speed/strength/athleticism combo i'll put Poe, Houston and Catapano against anybody in the NFL! My vote goes to Catapano. Check out this video, who moves like that over 280 lbs? ...although all those 3 are quite impressive http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlMQl66ACs4

Houston...

First thought went to Houston, but there are definitely some other options worth considering.
|
Houston
|
For how big Poe is, hands down it's him. Just imagine what he could do if he weighed as much as Houston. Oh weee
|
Let's see , Jerrel Powe's not with us any longer. I just don't know
|
It would probably have to be Poe at the moment. Guys at 350 just shouldn't be able to move like be does..
But I'd throw DJ out there as well. I remember reports out of practice saying he was the fastest player on our team when we first drafted him. We weren't stacked with burners back then but that's still impressive. |

Poe

Athletically, it's Poe, and it isn't even close.

It's easily Poe. A guy that big shouldn't be able to move that fast. It's just unnatural. Oh, and he's the strongest dude on the field too.
|
For his size, Poe is incredible.
|
There is something about Big Cat that reminds me of Jared Allen- the dude just does not stop- and seems nearly unblockable on some plays.
7th round steal for sure!! |

When I was at dinner with Dexter last year he told me it was easily Allen Bailey.

I dont see how this is a discussion.
Poe is an actual freak of nature. |
I didnt notice Cat much against the Jags, hope he gets more snaps against the Cow****ers.

Good thread - you're fitting in well, so far. I like Houston, always did. I had a head start though by living down here and seeing UGA on the TV all of the time. |

if you aren't full jack'd up about this team right now, you are missing a lot of what is happening with this team. The vets in the house!! and a guy like Catapano adds that youth spice to those veteran players.
|
I would have put Eric Berry on the list. I think he's more athletic than Houston myself.
|
I'm very interested in tomorrow.

# of sacks against Cowboys?? I'm gonna say 4

It's Poe, but Bailey is a freak too.
|
Poe had like the most ridiculous combine ever. The guy is unnaturally athletic.
|
Colquitt and it's not even close.

In fact compare the strength/speed and athleticism of our defense against anybody in the NFL and we'll come out on top. Mind boggling strength. Poe 45 reps (combine record) Houston 420 lbs power clean in college...Catapano as evidenced in the video with ability to pull a 750 lbs or maybe 800 lbs deadlift as a rookie...CRAZY strength. And besides that they all have freak speed and athleticism for their size.

I can't wait to see what our defense does to the cowboys for sure.
|
Also..since we are on the topics of all the freaks in a Chiefs uniform its worth mentioning that we also have a 225 lbs running back who runs a 4.3 40 and did 31 reps on the bench. I know we are talking defense here but those are such freaky stats i figured why not give Davis an honorable mention lol =) If he can hold onto the football then between him and Charles we can keep Peyton cold on the sideline. History shows he doesn't do well when that happens ;-)

Everyone in the nfl is a freak.
Even the pussies nobody calls football players are freaks... Who the **** can kick a ball 50 yards high and 50 yards long and get the ball to land in a 5'x5' box? Every time. This is about the biggest freak, not all of them... |
Geesus - that video is insane.
To have that much strength is just scary. But to match it with "off the charts" agility for a man that size is just mind bending. This defense is a gathering force and is going to be a big problem for other teams. I really can't wait to see how good they get by mid season. They have a nice blend of veterans and young studs. |

1. Poe
2. Houston 3. Hali 4. Berry |
Poe. I love what Catapano has done so far, though. Coming from the Ivy League, he's a guy you want to root for.
|
So far this year its Poe. He's the most improved. And he's still a puppy.

He's really kind of average in the scheme of things when compared to NFL players. He's a guy that has achieved through sheer hard work, determination and desire. In some way, that's more impressive than guys that are physical freaks, and certainly worthy of respect. |
