Lets Play Are YOU Smarter Than Reid And Dorsey?
You have the # 1 pick in the draft and must choose a player. We will bump this over the course of the next few years and see who indeed is smarter than Reid/Dorsey.
I'm going with Tavon Austin. |
Eric Kush

TRADE IT FOR TIM TEBOW
|
Just about every GM in the league would have taken Fisher.
I'll stick with him |
You take a playmaker at 1.1, period. Tackles just aren't that.
|
I'd probably have taken Fisher. I know, it sucks, but there aren't any other guys I'd feel too confident about other than maybe Dion Jordan. And he's no sure fire thing either. It just sucked to be the year to have the 1.1
|
Eric Fisher
|
Geno Smith
|
No play-makers at 1.1. Austin is a freak, but not worth 1.1, and is a little under-sized. I don't like trading Albert and taking Fisher, but Fisher will do well.
I take Fisher. |
Geno Smith
|
|
Joeckel
|
Fisher.
|
I'd have taken Fish as well. This draft really blew for teams that had the top echelon picks. No Luck types or RG3 types, no dynasty type QB's. Just a bunch of filler.
|
Geno Smith.
|
Geno Smith.
|
geno
|
A kicker
|
Just because I know it will piss people off.
Warmack... |
Most GMs would take Fisher, but they wouldn't do it because he's the best player, they'd do it because he's a safe player.
1) Geno 1a) Jarvis Jones |

You take the best player in the draft. That player was Fisher.

Best talent at 1-4. Nope, don't care about value. I'd take one of those 2... |

I'm just trying to imagine what it would be like around here if Geno/Bray and FIsher end up being huge busts, and Joekel ends up being a HOFer. LMAO

Fisher has more (very) raw athletic ability and a bigger upside. |

Bray has about a 5% chance to not be a bust and Geno has about a 20% to not be a bust, imo. |

Jordon or Millner would have been the only other guys on my draft board.

A) was drafted by the chiefs not a retread B) filled in for Dawson managing games to help us get our only super bowl |

For today, at least.

How about Geno and Tavon no Alex? Do I win?
|
Yes

I would trade the pick to Frisco for one of their backup QBs.
Doesn't matter which one as long as he is a 49er QB. |

Hindsight being 20/20? Sure.
In reality? Uh, NO? They didn't overreach for a qb, they got a qb that could "manage" or baby, or care take, the offense. After all, philly, when they were at their best, with Brian Dawkins, Michael Lewis, Bobby taylor, Sheldon Brown, Troy Vincent, Jevon Kearse, were a defensive team, with a supplemental offense.. That is the type of team that went to 5 nfccg and one super bowl appearance. When the packers won their super bowl, they had an opportunistic defense that made the clutch turnover, and despite finishing in the lower half of the league in yards, had the second highest turnover differential in the league. They fortified what was already the strongest part of the team, while getting guys who could be competent ENOUGH to not drag the team down. They are far smarter than anyone on this board. |

Again. This is a hindsight 20/20 thing. You have to remember, at the time of the draft, the Chiefs had Albert down in Miami trying to work a trade out for himself. There was very little belief by any Chiefs fan that he was going to be back in a Chiefs uniform this year. Austin was the most dynamic player in the draft. I thought that he, or Ansah, would of been ideal fits for the Chiefs at 1. I didn't like the idea of drafting a LT number one overall any more than the next guy. THe chiefs were in limbo. The concensus best players in the draft were linemen. Cooper, Joeckell, Warmack, Dj FLuker, Eric Fisher, Lane Johnson. It was a draft without sex appeal. The majority of the top 10 has underwhelmed with the exception of Mingo, chance, and milliner the top 10 has been a disappoint until yesterday with Austin. |
How good would this offensive line be if we had drafted DJ Fluker instead?
Not that I'm suggesting people would have liked the pick by any stretch of the imagination. It would have made this place explode worse than if we had taken Joeckel with the pick. Just saying. I think Albert would be playing on a cheaper contract because we would have trusted him to man the spot, and we'd be getting a very good RT from college to play RT in the NFL with no transition. And as it turns out, he looks to be a pretty damn good player in the NFL. |
