I've been on a 54th Street kick lately. Food can get a bit pricey, but their Long Islands are the poop. I like the one in Liberty over the one in Zona Rosa for some reason.

One of the best dive bars in KC. CJ and Aaron are great. Ang |
How many of you have hit The Caddyshack? Opinions? Reviews?
And tell me more of this Gilhouly's.... |

Gilhouly's is at 39th and Bell.
Great juke box, decent pool table. Moderately priced drinks. Good neighborhood vibe. The bartenders vary and some of the girls are attractive or used to be. Although I did have one ask me how to make a Rolling Rock. Ang |

Some people *love* the pizza whereas I think it is simply good. Decent tenderloin sandwich. |
Depends on the crowd or mood or people I am with but generally...
Caddyshack Grinders Reiger Hotel + Exchange Flying Saucer Harrys Bar + Tables The Brick...though I have sort of fallen out of favor with it. Also The Jacobsen is newer and pretty great. |
Has anyone been to Bier Station?

I'm heavily invested in Old Chicago at the moment.

Jimmy's Jigger when I lived in KC.

Egan's in Tuscaloosa is the best neighborhood dive bar I've ever been to.
http://ttownnightlife.com/wp-content...65-440x270.jpg Anyone driving through Tuscaloosa for any reason needs to stop in for a drink. People love this bar so much that there's an anthology of writing coming out in a couple of weeks about it. (http://www.brianoliu.com/lod/) http://www.brianoliu.com/lod/babycover.jpg |
When in KC, I'm generally always drinking at The Foundry or Flying Saucer.
|
Peanut Downtown although I'm rarely downtown much anymore.
Peanut on Main, Charlie Hoopers, and Mike's Tavern are my current rotation. |
While I'm not form KC, here we have a hole-in-the-wall, The Brass Rail that's been open since prohibition was lifted and just across the street a casual sport's bar, Esquire, that has NEVER raised the price of their cheapest draft in their 40 years. They've recently started serving a pineapple marinated tequila that's nice to shoot though they've raised the price on those due to popularity, dang it.

KC - Swagger or "Flo's Poke a Dot Lounge"

How much do drinks run in the Midwest? I think it's a good deal when I get a jack and coke for $8

Typically if I take off work early around 2-4pm. Anytime after that, I'd have 2 kids with me. |
The Reiger/Manifesto
Harry's Country Club (Excellent bourbon selection) Jerry's Bait Shop Anton's Taproom Flying Saucer Mac's Sports Pub (9$ Long Island PITCHERS) Llywelyn's Pub Johnny's Backyard Hickocks Those are my local faves. If I had to choose just one, I'd go with Flying Saucer. Great beer selection and a fun atmosphere. |
Tanners on 119th.

My kitchen is pretty nice.
|
shady jack's saloon, Big Daddy's soulard (not on a weekend), and the one very local. Barney's is a decent option some nights.
|
23rd Street Brewery in Lawrence. Within walking distance of the house.
Make that staggering distance. |
The Office. Several of us have weekly meetings there Friday's at 4.

I like it because it's hard to beat 2.25 draws, and they keep the glasses cold enough I don't have to taste the cheap swill they fill them with.
