Bears putting B. Marshall on the trading block

Better than bowe... Wonder what they are asking for
|
I'm sure he'd really ****ing enjoy being in our offense this wouldn't turn into a total train wreck or anything
|
Good trade for bowe.
|
YEAH! GET RID OF ONE BIG-BODIED POSSESSION RECEIVER FOR ANOTHER!!!111
|
He's not coming here and ruining what's left of his career with Alex.
|
He's always banged up. No thanks, maybe if he was a FA.
|
We do need a guy who's willing to throat shank a CB to get Alex Smith open.

It was a no brainer. Made way too much sense to not do. |
Sorry, looks like it's BS.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>So it seems… RT <a href="https://twitter.com/BrianCoz">@BrianCoz</a>: Tis the season for fake twitter accounts. Beware.</p>— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) <a href="https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/573529143083601920">March 5, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> |
So that's where we're at now. "Reputable" reporters not bothering to check their sources.

OH YEAH MAN LET'S GET A REAL WR IN HERE
DUMP BOWE AND GET THIS STUD AND WATCH ALEX RAIN TDS #ChiefsFreeAgencySuperBowl |
Contract numbers (2015: $7.5 million, 2016: $7.9 million, 2017: $8.3 million) are pretty reasonable.
I'd give a 5th. |

#ChiefsFreeAgencySuperBowl |
you'd give a whole 5th, eh?!
damn playa |

@NickMensio: #Chiefs director of pro personnel Chris Ballard was ex-#Bears GM Phil Emery's right-hand man when Chicago traded for Brandon Marshall.
|
His talent would be completely wasted here.
|
The Chiefs can't afford to give up any draft picks and his cap number is allegedly $9m.
Soooo yeah. Not happening. |

I'd probably give a 7th for him. It's risky, though. We could always land the next Jake O'Connell with that pick so it's never wise to trade late round picks.

So let's not bring in any WRs because they don't put up 1,500 yards in our offense? Let's just run 3 TE sets the entire season? or better yet be the first team in NFL history to not lineup any WR's at all? Why would his talents be wasted? Because our OL sucks? Yeah it does, but we still have plenty of offseason to go and a lot of options to improve that OL. Our OL sucked last year, that doesn't mean we can't make moves to improve that line for next year. Is it bc you don't approve of A Smith as our QB? Well, guess what... you could bring F'ing Aaron Rodgers in miraculously next year and HIS TALENTS WOULD BE WASTED without a F'ing WR core! |

Why do you think the Packers seem to not care about re-signing Randall Cobb? |

Poor n00b is about to become educated.

I wonder who will have a better season this year. Randall Cobb with the Raiders or Davante Adams with the Packers.
|
Jordy Nelson is better than anything we've had at WR for more than a decade.

My point is, in the end we still need to have a #1 receiver. We're cutting Bowe, and there are no other candidates on this roster to fill that spot.
Personally, I'm skeptical that we can find a rookie to fill that role year one. We can't just avoid looking at any talented FA WRs because we don't have the best passing game in the league. If you disagree with the above, I'm honestly interested in hearing what you would suggest we do about our WR core? Maybe Brandon Marshall isn't the answer, but I still think we need to be pursuing available WR talent. |

@AaronLemingNFL: Separate sources have confirmed that WR Brandon Marshall will be traded to the #Jets for a "late round" pick on Tuesday. #Bears

@AdamSchefter: Bears have agreed to trade WR Brandon Marshall to the Jets pending a physical, per league source.

"Rams moving Los Angeles" CP nope won't happen, Goodell won't let it happen |
Not sure the Jets can make much use of him with their quarterbacks, but welcome back to the division I guess!

I ask God no less than 4 times a day for the Rams to leave St. Louis... |
Jets are building themselves a pretty decent receiving corps, I must say. Decker, Percy Harvin and Marshall are no joke.
But the QB situation isn't so hot. |
I don't think Harvin will be there now that Marshall is there.
|
Decker blows. He only looked decent because of Manning
The Jets WR group is still waaay better than the chiefs but you know so is every other team in the NFL |
I don't think Harvin stays w/ the Jets now.
|
Quote:
He was a huge bust... |
Plus if they cut Harvin before March 10th....the trade only cost them a 6th. If not...it'll cost them a 4th round pick.
|
Yeah, didn't realize that the pick they have to give up for Harvin is dependent on whether he is with the team on 3/10. Agreed that they will cut him.
Harvin -- wow. Great talent but nobody wants him for more than 6 months... |
Quote:
|
Brandon must be thrilled. The Jets? He will be pissed.
|
Quote:
That was my first thought as well. Relative to our WR corps that looks amazing! I agree that Harvin is probably leaving, but kudos to them for making moves. I would have loved Marshall for a 5th to replace Bowe!!! Although I'm not sure the $ would work out. |
Charges have signed Jacoby Jones apparently.
|
So, does anyone think the Jets make a play for Cutler?
|
Quote:
|
Cowherd laughing about the signing: 38 catches and 4th place in the East.
|
Jets paid a 5th round pick while we trot the scrubs out on the field.
|
If Jets release Harvin, is he worth persuing?
|
Why would he come here and waste away the rest of his career with the myth qb guru Reid.
Reid is an offensive player killer. |

Marshall is the only guy on that Bears team last year that didn't just quit. He's a better route runner and gets better separation, and would do whatever it takes to make himself a target. I like Bowe, and have defended Bowe in the past, but the reality is that his effort was just not there last year. Bowe needs a fresh start with a QB who isn't afraid to utilize his ability to go up for balls. Marshall, though, is a guy that might actually make Alex Smith look a little better than what he is. Moot point, though, since the Jets have already worked out a deal. I would have gladly given up and 5th, and giggled myself silly about it. |

Could you be any more clueless? |

Marshall was a beast.
Better than any receiver we've had in the last 35 years |

(Marshall worth 11 yards more per game over the course of their careers). |
