A good day to Die Hard
Really? Another one?
At least it is getting an R Rating. <iframe src="http://widgets.ign.com/video/embed/content.html?url=http://www.ign.com/videos/2012/10/26/a-good-day-to-die-hard-international-trailer" width="468" height="263" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
I thought the last one was ****ing awesome. Loved Justin Long and Tim Olyphant. I really dug the story, too. IMO, MUCH better than 2 or 3. They adapted it from a novel, so it was some script demanded by a Hollywood Honcho looking to save his job.
This should be badass as well. |
If Bruce Willis is in it..I'm there. Yessir awesome!

But yeah, I wish it was Rated R, and take some of it down a notch but I liked it. |

Hell, I wish I could say that about more movies these days. |

There are very few that live up to the expectations set by the original film. |

I really liked the last one as well. I guess I like 3 a lot more than some, at least the ones that posted so far.
|
Sam Jackson and Willis worked perfectly together as black vs white, Justin Long did a good job as young vs old, I'm interested to see how his son and him play off one another.

Like I said before I wish 4 had been rated R. It would have been much better without trying to be PG-13 McClain. |

But, as JM did in 4, modocsot can't surf on a fighter jet. He did deliver my favorite line from that movie after beating Maggie Q's character, "Last time I saw her she was at the bottom of a elevator shaft with an SUV rammed up her ass." LOL! Ok, that scene was over the top too. |

He was a New York City detective. Big difference. |
If you think anything Die Hard, ever, is lame, YOU are lame.
Even the airport Die Hard was great. Blowing up an airplane while the villain is getting away is just fantastic. |

It was epic enough because he had only one bullet if I recall.

Heh. Apparently he goes and gets his son. More interested.

My rankings were: 1, 3, 2, 4.
I loved the first three. Die Hard is my favorite movie ever. I've owned it on VHS, DVD, and Blu-Ray. I'd buy it on Laser Disc if I had one. Vengeance is great. The cat and mouse chase with the riddles adds an intellectual layer that is absent in almost all action films. The second film is a pretty generic sequel, but has some awesome scenes in it. The last one was too ridiculous. The F-22 scene made the ejection seat scene with the 45 second fused grenades seem plausible. |

That was SOOOOOO much better. |
That scene is magic.

I would love to see that edited with music.

But yeah, they fucked up not going with that ending. |

Willis is apparantly "all in" for a Die Hard 6.
http://www.aintitcool.com/node/60809 I think if i was McClane, after being in the wrong place for 5 times, id never leave the house again. |

Personally I like over-the-top action. I practically jumped out of my chair and cheered when he rammed the car into the heli. Bad ass. Physics be damned. I loved the first because it kinda played out like a slasher film in reverse. The bad guys were trapped with the good guy while he picked them off one by one. Most action movies back then were pretty much 'good guy rampages and kills hundreds of bad guys in over-the-top action to save and or get revenge for his daughter/wife/girlfriend/partner.' McClain stalking, harassing, and then killing the bad guys one by one was awesome as hell, and I loved watching Hans squirm. |

The Die Hard script was originally penned as a sequel to 'Commando' I don't even want to think how many re-writes it took to get from A to B. |

Love it when critics and audiences are at complete opposite ends. |

I'm certainly not wasting theater money on it. |
Horrible, horrible movie. My wife loves the Die Hard series so I took her to see it and would have walked out in the first 15 minutes, if not for her. Can I get just an ounce of realism in a movie? This move made Stevan Segall's films look like documentaries.

Saw it. Looked like I was watching Call of Duty.
Spoiler!
|
Caught this last night.
It should be noted that I went in expecting a big fat steaming pile of cheese. I also went in expecting to laugh my ass off. It wasn't nearly as cheesy as I expected and I still laughed my ass off. I thought this was better than Live Free or Die Hard. It was "more" plausable, the villians were better, and it was rated R FFS. Speaking of Rated R, they dropped the **** bomb a little too much. It felt forced. It seemed like they got the R Rating so they felt like they had to do it. In the early ones, it just flowed. This one they forced it and it was kind of dumb. Overall, it's a popcorn flick. Nothing more, nothing less. I enjoyed it, but it is just what I expected. I had fun with it, but I can see how some would hate it. |
Should have stopped after 3.

The best thing about the Die Hard movies was when they played the first one on Network TV and dubbed out the profanity.
Yippee ki yay, Melon Farmer. |
This was the worst movie I've seen since "Wanted".
If it wasn't for just wanting to relax and go to sleep, I would've got up and turned this movie off without wasting a care. The whole thing was over the top unrealistic action with cheesy lines by the entire cast. |
Willis whispers all of his lines.
|
Havent seen it yet but I hear its awful. At least its rated R I guess

yeah Wanted was good trashy fun imo. Plus you got to see Jolie's ass

Turrible movie. Awful way for the franchise to go out.
Just finished watching a DVR copy from a free HBO preview weekend. Glad I didn't pay for this sh#t. |
Yeah just saw it for free on demand last night. Still felt ripped off
