My 7 year old daughter wants me to take her this weekend to go see it. Not sure how she would handle it if it's going to be a dark movie.

Rian Johnson said he was a HUGE fan of KOTOR and bringing in any of those characters would be ridiculously awesome.

I heard excerpts of an interview he did where he was asked point blank if the new trilogy was going to be a KOTOR venture. While he naturally wouldn't confirm it, he also didn't exactly deny it, either.
