Oh, maybe a penalty kick then? It'd be nice if the goal wasnt so big for PKs. I also think it'd be better if the goalkeepers stopped guessing and react. You arent stopping the great ones in the corners anyway. Might as well try to punish the mediocre ones and the guys who stutter waiting for you to vacate the middle.

I don't guess that matters.

In the article I was quoting above with statistical breakdowns of pk's, they basically concluded that your chances of stopping the shot are much better when you stay put in the center.

Basically, if you stay put, you are able to guard a full 1/3 of the goal. If you dive left or right, you only defend 1/9 of the goal.

Perhaps making observations, obvious ones at that, isn't saying football is perfect and soccer is totally horrible. Maybe it's just an observation. Now, the backlash from the those who think they own soccer's honor is a whole differnet thing.
So yeah, football needs some fixing, just like soccer.

IMO it's clear who the arrogant one was is the back and forth.

Sorry you don't like it man...don't know what to tell ya! There is currently an incredible game on right now...not sure how without all these changes you guys want but here it is.

So you're part of this group for soccer???

That might work in concept, but if a goalie just stood there all the time, guys would just start putting it in the corner. You have to change it up.

Yes, of course, but goalies should probably stay home a bit more often.

SAO PAULO – Lost amid all the talk about the World Cup making soccer grow in popularity within the United States is one very real and unexpected development taking place right here in Brazil.

The United States is growing in popularity within soccer.

Don't look now, U.S. men's national team, but you are increasingly becoming the second favorite team for a lot of folks from other countries, including the host nation.

"Brazil is falling in love with the U.S.," said Brazilian businessman Mario Ribiero, who partied with American supporters in Recife last week. "It is seen as something new and exciting and surprising. We love the team because it is an underdog. And we love the fans."

I have become absolutely addicted to this years world cup...

Being able to watch all the games is amazing... Never was a soccer fan until my son started playing in HS to better his footwork and speed for football. Now we both are addicted to watching it.

The excitement in the world cup surpasses anything the Chiefs have done in the last 15 years...
