Due to water content, texture is a lot more like eggplant parm inside the coating. With the tomato acidity.

okra and scrambled eggs is the best.

NewChief 09-22-2014 08:53 PM

The fried okra talk just reminded me of a favorite recipe I've got to break out: butter bean and chard risotto topped with fried okra.

Meh, she said something, but I wasn't listening, it was all like, "bla, bla, bla, fluffy, hard day at work, men suck, pigs, hot flash, 'then the bitch said', bla bla bla, hot flash, I hate men..............", then the commercial break ended.

But the dog's awesome, she thinks I'm all that and a bag of bacon!

Pancakes. I used Alton Brown's recipe. Honestly, they aren't as good as Bisquick pancakes. They don't have quite as much flavor. And while they are a bit "lighter" they have an odd inner texture; almost as if they are undercooked even though they are fully done. Not terrible, but not worth the trouble when you can get better straight out of a box.

Flatbread pizza in a hotel bar.

Just had a cheeseburger and a few chips. Had a lite beer with it. Ironing, packing running around doing errands no time to prepare a meal.

Last night I had chili lime salmon with yellow, red peppers and steamed broccoli. Had mesclun salad with avocado. Made banana bread in the afternoon because there were so many frickin' bananas lying around getting black.

No pics but I will get that handled on my return next week.

It's true. They just taste better than Alton Brown's recipe. Better texture, too.

Wife cooked a chuck roast in the crock pot. It was amazing. She cooked way to many potatoes, carrots and onions, so acordingly, I ATE way too many potatoes, carrots and onions. Ugh. I'm officially miserable.

Yesterday, wife made tacos. Again, I ate them entirely too fast to snap a picture. Goddamn I love tacos.

Hell yes, don't stand and lean against the table while I'm eating tacos, I'm liable to eat your hand.

I hate that stuff. But never tried Alton's. Everyone tells me my pancakes rock and I make 'em from scratch with a secret ingredient.
