Correct, KU's main objection to continuing now is that the game wouldn't really mean anything. Why schedule an admittedly tougher non con game when you need victories to try and get to a bowl game? If the format changes, however, dominated by four super conferences, then the non con basically becomes a means to increase revenue. An SEC-Big XII Showdown would be an additional piece of property to sell, and therefore, a reason to schedule the game.
