Unraveling a bit.

4th inning (probably his last one today) for Shields:

1B (infield single)
K (looking)
1B, runners at 1st and 2nd
ground rule double, 1 run scores, runners at 2nd and 3rd
1B, 2 runs score, batter-runner out at second 8-2-6

well.... he struck out a couple batters this inning. 6K's in 4 innings.

They said he was throwing a LOT of curveballs that inning. Might of just wanted to work on it a bit.

Yeah, his curve is not one of his strongest pitches, he's probably working on it.

In the top of the 5th, our first 2 batters were walked. Butler up now with runners at 1st and 2nd, no out

I put $10 on the over for the Royals on wins this year. The line was 77 1/2. I feel pretty good about that.

I also put $10 on the Chiefs to win the Super Bowl. LMAO

OK, I'm done with this game, the starters usually come out after 5, though it'll still be nice to win again.

Thoughts on Hosmer from tonight : Hes still pressing, not sure if its because hes on such a big stage representing his country, or if hes carrying over from last year. He has a shorter swing now. But from what I've watched, anybody who throws inside to him is going to give him a handful. He just cant hit it right now.

That's what gave Gordon so many problems at first. Hard inside, soft away. He needs to know that he can't kill every pitch and try to force the pitcher to give him what he wants.

Hosmer had a single and a bases clearing double on Sunday.
