The Finals last year was Durant, Westbrook and Collison against the Heat. Since they have decided not have the big 3 they need to add shooters and a post scorer. Spread out the talent. This maybe a blessing because if Russ stays healthy and you get to the Finals they may stay pay. Weaknesses are being massively exposed.

Scott Brooks is stealing money. IMO the players (namely KD) convinced them to pay him last year. Pretty much they are going to keep him happy which they should. If he wants him gone he will be gone. KD is loyal to a fault so I don't foresee it happening. Load up with talent and hope for the best I guess.

IMO Brooks may have already cost them a ring last year by playing Perk. This year Miami was and is just better.

well it has to be next man up, didnt they get some good young talent from the Harden trade?

time for them to step up! injuries happen man. Just take a look at my Lakers. Just gotta deal with it hold down the fort and hopefully Westbrook can be back midway through the wcf or the finals if they make it that far.

I think Presti's idea was to build a team of young players that could grow together and eventually become a juggernaut. However, Russ' injury this year shows just how precious time is for your great players. Strike while the iron is hot. Who knows when something might happen to throw a very big wrench in your plans.

Westbrook isn't coming back this year. Thats been 100% confirmed. They got Jeremy Lamb and Perry Jones on the bench, but they won't see the floor. Brooks is too stubborn. Those 2 have huge upside, and should have been developed this year. No point in making the moves the made of players are stashed in Tulsa for 2 years and by the time they are good you have to trade them too. We'd be better off being a 4 seed with players ready to play. Pop gets that. Brooks does not.

Bottom line without Russ this team is done. Especially, with him making KD point guard. Doesn't matter if its this round or next round. Had no idea how this team would look without RW0 but its not pretty.

Setsuna 05-01-2013 11:44 PM

Sigh. I never even remotely said either was better. I'm purely talking about how to turn a team into your team through your play. Durant can take over games. Maybe he's just too nice at this point.

I don't think it's a problem of that at this point. His teammates aren't hitting shots when they are setup.

Interesting how similar KD's career arc is to Lebron's with the early finals loss and then the "not scoring in the fourth quarter and seemingly pouting" bit. He'll get absolutely crucified if they miraculously lose this series too considering ESPN doesn't really any compelling stories for casual sports fans. Hope he recovers quickly.

Hope people realize now just how insanely good Russell Westbrook really is though.

Scotty Brooks = Mike Brown.

Lebron James = Lebron James.

lol, well shitty, just play til they get waxed out by houston or the next round. I havent followed much on if he's done for the play offs or not.

oh well, not my team. it happens. Heat go back to back. lol

Scott Brooks wishes he was the coach Mike Brown is and that is not tongue and cheek what so ever.

Westboro was protesting at the game last night because Durant said he supported Jason Collins. If there is a hell they should be at the front of the line.

Derrick Rose looking better by the second...

Players don't know how to line up on jump balls anymore.

Good... I hate the Bulls, they don't deserve to win anything for 100 years.

KevB 05-02-2013 08:50 PM

that was a terrible toss by the official, threw it straight over his own head so Noah had to reach back and get it

If the Warriors don't start playing this one is headed back to Denver where they will lose.

KC_Connection 05-02-2013 09:59 PM

Brooklyn is better than Chicago. More talent. But who knows how they'll perform in game 7...they've been so up and down this series.

Golden State badly needs this game. Winning in Denver again is way too much to ask.

Thibs is amazing. He's taking castoffs like Nate Rob and Belinelli and turning them into winning players. Noah is great though, hell of an anchor. Good on both ends, and brings that toughness and emotion. He reminds me of what Garnett has given the Celtics.

Denver blew that first half. GS guards couldn't make a shot, and they didn't have enough of a lead to withstand the point when those guards did make shots.

This game is a microcosm of Iggy's career. Does some nice things, but just not enough on offense to be a true star.

KevB 05-02-2013 10:20 PM

Steph Curry's really getting more and more comfortable with the Nash-style sleight of hand dribbling and passing. Unconventional shovels and flips, splitting doubles, etc. He's even working in the flips with either hand around the basket. He's a bigger and younger version of Nash, and that's a scary thought.

And he can score way better than Nash ever could.

KC native 05-02-2013 10:23 PM

As a Spurs fan, I would much rather have Golden State in a series rather than Denver. The Nuggets always play the Spurs tough. Although, it would be nice to have one of my teams kick the shit out of something Dungver related.

Spurs probably struggle with Denver's dominant bigs.

Nash could have scored more if he didn't have the mindset to distribute more than shoot. To a fault at times in his career. Guy that knocks down 90/50/40 fairly consistently probably should shoot more. Curry has that killer attitude with his shooting that will serve him well.

Yes, but aside from the year that Memphis bounced the Spurs, they haven't had trouble with big men.

Yeah. Couldn't resist taking a shot at the Lakers.

Brewer is losing his mind. What an awful foul. Chucking 3's, fouling. He's been really important for them this year, and he's disappeared.

1 quarter to go Warriors. Get it done

GState looks like they're going to get this done. Good for them, they had to.

The Spurs should take them out next round, but I could see GState getting a game with a hot shooting performance.

Yea, it won't be a sweep. GS will take at least 1 at home. I could even see them grabbing two games.

Going to need to be even bigger vs. Duncan next series. You know, assuming they don't completely choke this away.

No, he's not. But you can see a resemblance in his game to Nash. He gets his teammates layups a couple of times a game though, and he's missing his best pick and roll partner with Lee out.
