Wait, are they out of style?!? I thought people were laughing at me because of my great sense of humor. I guess I'll have to go out this weekend and buy some Tommy Hilfiger jeans and rugby shirts to get back in style.

Anyone know where to buy ribbed v-neck tees? I got this a few years ago from Old Navy. They don't sell this style anymore.

You can see this has depth and texture to it. Everywhere I looked today all I saw was flat, thin t-shirts.

Yeah that's tough - I'd just say keep an eye on TJ Maxx, sometimes over by their lounge pants they'll have soft borderline underwear shirts with that texture.

I like the Hugo Boss stainless watches. They'll be around $300ish - not too far off from the one you pictured. However watches are weird w/ people. People get used to the brand(s) which they're comfortable with.

Right now I only have a digital watch in inventory. :doh!:

watch your knees bro - shit wears and wears on them - I like the Brooks for running - but Asics are on the same level. Mix in some weight training w/ the running DaKC, to take a little pressure off of your knees.

I get full body workouts from power yoga 3-4x/wk. Some days I don't have time or my lower back and/or quads are sore form the day before and I still want to do something active so I'm going to incorporate running. Also will allow me to keep active while I'm on travel, which ~25% of the time.

Yeah - I've had Brooks before. These ASICs are supposed to be stabilization kicks to help with over-pronating.

They're of the same tier - just a preference to the individual - I have Asics also in Navy and Gray - I forget the model number.

Need some help SR. I have a formal event to attend (shirt/tie) and I need to know which if either of these will look ok with dark grey dress pants. I figured the grey shoes but what do you think about them? Are they fashionable or should I donate them? Ive never worn them, they were given to me several years ago.

You can't go wrong with the loafers, in my opinion.

The other ones look like some shit Wyatt Earp would wear.

MTG#10 03-26-2014 03:33 PM

So black shoes would go with dark grey pants?

If you're forced to choose between those 2, the ones on the left are it. The ones on the right don't belong in a formal ensemble at all.

Without seeing the grey, I'd say yes.

Black is generally your best bet when it comes to matching random colors; it pretty much matches everything except dark blues and faded blacks.

Or greens/browns. Your best bet with earth tones is brown shoes.

ThaVirus 03-26-2014 04:49 PM

For clarification, how dark is the grey? I just Googled "dark grey" and some of those are pretty close to black.. and the closer they get the less they'll match.

You may just have to go with the black loafers anyway, though. I don't think white shoes are a good choice in a formal setting and, really, your only other option would be some variation of brown.

The black loafers wouldn't look ok with dress pants, a shirt, and tie? Its not extremely formal...think church-ish.

The boot looking things on the left, are they nice or hideous? Im clueless with this shit.

Ok I thought you meant left in the other picture. So these will go with dark grey dress pants even though they're black? I would buy new shoes but I rarely ever dress up. I have a court date coming up too to prevent my ex from relocating my kids to another state and plan to wear a black suit, would these black shoes with the buckle go with a suit at all or do I need to buy new shoes?

They'd go with a grey suit just fine. What else are you going to wear? Grey shoes are kinda tacky and white shoes? Oh hell no...

Black shoes are your friend if you're wearing a neutral color like black or grey.

This is what I'm wearing to this formal thing I was talking about, with dark grey pants and I guess the black buckle shoes. Would this shirt/tie also go with the black suit Im wearing to court in a couple months or is the purple too dark for a black suit?

I know it looks off but the shirt is the same purple as the dark purple in the tie, I dont know why it looks blue in the pic.

I guess this isn't the right thread, but I'll ask anyway. I've been growing my hair long for the last year or longer. I'm trying to get it a bit past shoulder length. Right now my bangs come down to about my chin, but the back comes down past my collar. It looks like shit right now but I don't really wanna get it cut because it will just prolong the "awkward phase". Should I just bite the bullet and get it trimmed a little? Should I get more cut off the back than in the front? These are probably stupid questions but I'm new to the long hair stuff. I think I am cut out for long hair, but it's been quite a process. My hair doesn't grow very fast.

I haven't had a haircut in over 3 years. I'm the wrong person to ask about this one.

I'm sure Red will tell you that the best thing to do is to get it all cut off. Long hair isn't exactly "in" anymore.

ThaVirus 03-26-2014 05:23 PM

I was once told that your hair actually grows faster after you cut it. When you clip the split ends and all that, your hair gets healthier and grows more quickly..

I'm not sure if that's true.

Yeah I catch shit from some people in my family and circle of friends about it, but I don't care. You only live once and I've always thought long hair was cool if you're cut out for it. If it sucks or I get sick of it I can always get it cut later.

I've read that's a myth, but in May I got a trim and it DID seem to grow faster after that, so who knows?

Same with me. My oldest daughter thinks it's cool as shit, my youngest calls me "ma'am".

I have seriously curly Jewish hair, so I had kept it real short (2 inches or shorter) for the first 35 or so years of my life. The awkward phase was REALLY awkward, all the way past 8 inches or so (think white guy with a massive fro) but now that it's down past my shoulders, it has relaxed a lot.

The ladies in my office hate me. They gotta pay over $100 to get hair that looks like mine. :D

My dad and grandpa give me shit every time they see me. ESPECIALLY my grandpa. I have thick brown hair that's slightly wavy. It looks pretty bad right now, I'm not gonna lie. Some days are ok. I'm so close to being able to tie it back. I think I'm just gonna pass on the trim and let it go. Shit would probably grow a lot faster if I drank water like humans are supposed to and ate good fruits and vegetables.

NewChief 03-26-2014 06:23 PM

I had long hair for years and dreadlocks (that's right mother****ers. White boy dreads). If I could have long hair still, I would. The receding hairline caught up though, and I'm pretty close shaven these days.

Lol. I want the Gannicus from Spartacus look. The only issue, and it's quite a major one, is that I'm not as good looking as the dude.

Side note: In my opinion Spartacus jumped the shark after season 2 after Andy Whitfield died from cancer.

I just finished the final episode last night. Probably one of my favorite shows ever. It would have been so much better with Andy Whitfield as Spartacus, but...not much they could do about that (RIP). I also didn't like Naevia being recast, but I heard the original wanted double the salary or something like that. That was the rumor at least. Great show either way.

That sucked so bad that he died. I watched the first season and the short prequel season (which was badass) and then once I heard they recast Spartacus it took me a while to start watching the last 2 seasons. I'm glad I did though. The replacement Spartacus isn't bad.

My wife was a fan of Crixus, so she kept watching.

My hair cut is more like the Howie Long style cut. I cut it myself every other weekend, as Red would say, I have Cop hair!
