Can't really say I blame the guy, he's shooting movies he can't just leave on a whim....

He makes more money to do less, and if the WWE hadn't pushed him to do movies it wouldn't have happened. It's partially their fault...

I don't either except that I think he could show up for events like this. It is a one time event and he was really the only superstar besides Cena not to be there.

Major superstars like who? I am not talking about jobbers.

Of course the TNA guys don't count

Dave Meltzer says Rock turned down the invite because he's not currently making any public appearances before he starts work on his next movie.

Hey, Rock: nlm

He also said they tried everything possible to get Bret Hart there, but he had conflicts with his the publicity tour for his book. The ending they wanted was for Bret to be the final guy to beat up Vince.

And re: the earlier talk of Wrestlemania, Cena's opponent was supposed to be Batista.

The WWE didn't even contact Goldberg or Lesnar....

Savage was on Raw...Raw started in 92 he wasn't gone till like 95 or 96....the WWE seems to have a serious issue with ever doing anything that involves him.

He seems Ultimate Warrior type weird. The rap album, there's other examples, but I'm too stoned to think of them currently. Vince has always stayed away from those guys. You don't see X-Pac, Chyna, none of the nutbags. Randy would hurt their image at this stage, plus I'd bet he'd be difficult to work with now as much as then.

Mecca 12-11-2007 12:42 AM

I personally don't think they touch him cause he and Hogan hate each other and they work with Hogan for the most part...

Chyna's a drug head.........they actually offered Xpac a contract to come back and 1 point, he could if he wanted. He said he doesn't think he can do that schedule anymore.

I had no idea Waltman had been invited back. I figured we'd see him when they brought back Degen X. I figured Road Dogg would be back too. Didn't he get fired for smoking pot? That was what I heard. I'm pretty sure he's in TNA now? I haven't watched for a while, just kind of getting back into it since Y2J came back. It's just not as good as it used to be. As far as Randy goes, he was a star in his own right, but he could never touch Hulk, you can't blame Vince for making that pick if it's what it came down too.

Mecca 12-11-2007 12:48 AM

Road Dogg and Billy Gunn are in TNA...they weren't and likely will never be invited back because of comments they made in a shoot after leaving.

Saying things like "HHH is a no good mother****er" "If I ever saw him again I'd kick his ****in ass" "I'd like to splatter his big nose across his face"

They basically ruined any chance of ever coming back, it was discussed then they found out about that and the idea was dropped.

Ultra Peanut 12-11-2007 03:24 AM

I'm just gonna post this here because I've seen it a few times now, and every single time I lose my shit because it's so absurd.

"Chavo Jr. & Animal beat Misterio Jr. & Kidman. Schiavone was waiting all day for the line talking about Misterio Jr. wrestling in Mexico, and then said, Mexico is bordered to the south by Guatemala, not Nicaragua, as everybody knows. For the other three million viewers who don't have any idea why he said this, it's because 11 years ago, there was this guy who did a wrestling newsletter named Steve Beverly who had the ear of a guy at TBS named Jeff Carr. Carr made the call that WCW Saturday Night should only have one host, and it was Ross. Schiavone was so mad he went to the WWF for several years. He's hated Beverly ever since. Anyway, last week on 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire', a contestant was asked what country bordered Mexico to the south and called Beverly for a lifeline and Beverly said Nicaragua and his friend hesitated, but went with Beverly's pick, and was wrong." - The Wrestling Observer Newsletter: February 05, 2001

Additionally, the choice to use Eric Young as the replacement partner in the Turning Point main event was made by Jeff Jarrett. Some considered using Jarrett himself in the spot but he wants to save his return for a built-up PPV in 2008. Joe apparently suggested Homicide but the notion was overturned, although Homicide was under the impression that it was going to go ahead and he got quite upset with management when he found out otherwise.

Main Main Event: CM Punk vs. Elijah Burke vs. John Morrison!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Main Event #2: Taker-Edge, streaks and WHC on the line because the whole "Taker winning and then laying the belt in the ring" thing would be amazing

Main Event #3: WWE title match, Heel Jericho vs. Heel HBK vs. Youmanga with Mike Tyson and Dennis Rodman as special guest referees

That would be great. Taker just leaving the belt in the ring would be the best retirement in history.

My unrealistic desires:

Punk v Burke 2/3 Falls

Jericho v MVP

Morrison v Jeff Hardy Ladder Match

Of all the stars from the past who made cameo appearances on Monday night's 15th Eaw Anniversary show, Tammy 'Sunny' Sytch looks to have the best chance of landing a job in World Wrestling Entertainment (besides the likes of Trish Stratus and Rob Van Dam obviously)

Backstage at the show, Johnny Ace asked Sytch for her contact information. They talked with her about doing some segments with WWE 24/7. However it is not known at this time if they'd like her back as a member of the roster.

Maybe this is assumed, but it's gotta have Taker vanshing, IMO. Like he wins the belt, does that thing where he drops to one knee and holds it up, then the lights go out. And when they come back up, Taker's gone and the belt is laying there.

And I know it doesn't really count, but I can't imagine anything ever beating Macho Man's retirement at WM7 where he reunited with Elizabeth. This would be close, though.

Mr. Flopnuts 12-14-2007 07:50 PM

Usually when a wrestler retires, they have their ass handed to them in their last match. I was at Wrestlemania when Rock demolished Stone Cold. Why would Undertaker be any different? I know he's different, the question is, why would they change this for him? Everything I've ever read, is it's better for the wrestler, and the business for him to get beat down like a donkey in his last match.

Ultra Peanut 12-14-2007 09:35 PM

I honestly think that's bullshit, because it totally devalues the belt. The next guy to win it will be seen as a paper champion because he didn't go over UT.

Of course, I can't really stand the Undertaker because he's put over fewer people than Hogan, and fancies himself as some kind of lockerroom Rommel, but that's probably another argument for another time.

From what I gather, they did something like the HBK "chin music to the timekeeper" spot in having Jericho go after Orton but hit JBL. This apparently pissed off JBL, so JBL kicked Jericho in the head while he had the Walls on and Orton ready to tap.

I tried to say, "Hey, there's no conspiracy to bury Jericho," but having him put on a great match with Orton for the title only for an announcer to interfere to SET UP A FEUD WITH SAID ANNOUNCER, well... what the hell else could that be? Who gave that stupid shit the green light?

From "I'm here to save us!" to an angle featuring a guy from another ****ing show in the span of a month.

Not to mention that JBL's incredibly entertaining on the mic, but he looked like shit two weeks ago for the APA reunion. And now Tazz is calling the main event with Cole. ****.

Because Jericho has and has always had people in the office that don't think he's anything more than a nice upper card player and not a maineventer.....

One of them has 3 H's in his name...H is purposely going out of his way to put Hardy over because he thinks Jeff Hardy is more deserving of that spot than Jericho is.......

Like it or not, Jericho hasn't been over, his return speech the obvious exception. I didn't think he was going to win today, and it played out the way pretty much everyone expected. He's back in the midcard now, hopefully with a slower build rather than a burial. And he did have a virtual pin (or tapout) tonight, rather than straight up losing to Orton, so he's shown to the unwashed masses that he's capable of beating the champion, so he's still theoretically in the title picture.

He and JBL could be entertaining, too. At least on the mic.

I'm wondering if they won't take Jericho heel eventually.

You were already wrong about Armageddon. Hardy went over HHH, albeit in as unimpressive of fashion as possible. (You can't truly say HHH gave him *any* rub in that match...he even acted like it was a joke afterwards).

Again, I told you that you can't trust those dirt sheets all the time.

It may be HHH vs. Batista, but as of now, it sure as shit looks like HHH v. Orton.

Hardy gets a token shot at the rumble, loses, HHH wins the rumble, and beats Orton at WM 24

Actually, Orton chucked Jericho into JBL, and then as he was going after Orton, he shoved JBL out of the way. As soon as you saw the look on JBL's face, you knew it was going to happen.

I'm just pissed because sans run-ins or DQs, that was going to be a ****+ match. I know a lot of people don't like Orton, but he can really bring it as a heel. He did some great psychology last night, and the look and shimmy he did after he RKO'd Jericho is definitely Ultra Peanut .gif quality material.
