Fact is most times someone enters your house while you are home it is going to be dark, you are going to most likely be waken out of a sleep and scared shitless. This is why I favore a shotgun over other firearms for home defense. While the phrase "point and shoot" is exagerated, it is a lot easier to aim a shotgun than an AR or a .45 when you are shaking, scared and most likley can't see well. There is just a little more room for error.

The whole pounding on the door-jiggling the knob would have gotten a rather unfriendly reaction here. Call the cops, but be ready in case he breaks the door down. Then it's .40 caliber enema time.

someone that has no business being at my home after I already told them to leave rattling my door knob trying to get in is getting shot, not stabbed tazered or any other wacky rambo bullshit. Got a dog and a 12 and they're both noisy.

I think my next goal will be to educate myself about firearms and take some classes, lessons and get one. I'll start with a shotgun I think. Honestly, I've only shot a gun once in my life. That was at a friends house and I hit a cotton mouth that was about 10 feet away in the swamp. So I'm sitting with 100% lifetime accuracy, lol
