Our fans have gone from whining about being "Yosted!" to being upset he wasn't named MOY. You can't make this stuff up

I don't believe it.

With no stats, college, or minor league pedigree to go on, I have to rely completely on the scouts for this, but they seem excited. 70 power who is "not fast, but good speed for his size". Big dude, 6'2" 240

Downside is the scouts aren't sure about the hit tool, he swings and misses a bit more than they want. Very high risk, very high potential reward. It would be a very expensive mistake if he didn't pan out especially for a team like KC, but the scouts I'm reading are going bonkers over his power.

It makes sense but Glass isn't going to pay the price.

Same. The market for Cuban players has gotten so high, only the big-market teams can afford the risk of signing the marquee guys.

The success of Jose Abreu only increased the market.

Have you been reading about the Korean SS? EDIT: It now sounds like he WILL get posted. Intriguing player.

Tell me more.

But let's just say that the Royals somehow manage to win the bidding for Tomas.., and he proves to be worth every penny of his contract ... Would be the final piece to really catapault this team into a strong run of contention.

All right. Dream over. I'm sure he'll be awesome for the Phillies.

That is dreaming.

Just a qualifier: the Agent for Tomas is also the agent for Ervin Santana.

So while the Royals have technically 'talked' to Tomas' agent, I'm sure it was in regards to Ervin only.

The guy's name is Jung-Ho Kang. He played SS for his Korean team but is more likely a 3B/Corner OF guy in MLB. Put up huge numbers in his league last year, top 5 in BA, HR, SLG

They went to a new ball that increased offensive production across the board, but he's still a powerful RH bat with quite a bit of versatility defensively. I believe he's 26 or 27 at the start of the next season.

He probably gets a deal that's 1/4 to 1/3 as big as that of Tomas.

Signing both Tomas & Santana confirmed....

Free agents can sign whenever they want at this point, right?
