What concerns me is Mathews' injury history.

QB Stafford
QB E. Manning
WR Welker
WR D. Jackson
WR Harvin
RB Forte
RB Bradshaw
TE Written/ Olsen
W/R S. Ridley
DEF Houston
K Rackers

2 starting QB's? Keep Eli. Not a tough call at all.

In my preparation I'm trying to decide whether, if available at 8, I would take Cam Newton/Matt Stafford and then at 20 take best available WR/RB (or Gronk) or if I should take a top RB (Arian Foster or Ray Rice) at #8 and then counter with a QB like Schaub/Ryan/Eli/Romo in the 3rd or 4th round. :hmmm:

Option B

Had the draft for my work league this morning. Miraculously one of the top 6 (top 3 QBs, top 3 RBs) slipped to my pick.

14 teams - pick 8

QB Matt Schaub
RB LeSean McCoy
RB Adrian Peterson
WR Julio Jones
WR Dwayne Bowe
TE Jermaine Gresham
K Billy Cundiff
D Cincinnati
--------
QB Jay Cutler
QB Christian Ponder
RB Donald Brown
RB Cedric Benson
WR Danny Amendola
WR Greg Little
TE Coby Fleener
D Cleveland

10 team league, standard scoring, had the 5th pick. I like it but I don't love it... Tempted to drop someone & pick up David Wilson from the Giants but I'm not sure how many touches he'll get.

QB Cam Newton
RB Trent Richardson
RB Doug Martin
WR Calvin Johnson
WR Jordy Nelson
WR DeSean Jackson
TE Aaron Hernandez
DEF Packers
K Who gives a shit? Succop I think...

BN QB Matt Ryan
BN RB Cedric Benson
BN RB Mark Ingram
BN WR Titus Young
BN WR Greg Little
BN TE Fred Davis

in a 12 team league with 1 point PPR and at pick 9, is Darren Spoles worth taking in the first round?

surely the best players will be gone in the first 8 picks (Megatron, Ray Rice, Arian Foster, etc) and I'm not sure I can justify taking a QB in the first round of a PPR league over whatever RB catches a bunch of dink and dunk passes or WR that catches a lot of balls. (i.e Wes Welker)

Old Dog 08-25-2012 07:06 PM

Not only no, but hell no. Any of the big 3 at QB is a slam dunk choice over Sproles

Old Dog 08-25-2012 07:08 PM

Sproles ADP in a PPR with a flex is 2.09 in a 12-team draft

mcaj22 08-25-2012 07:17 PM

so take him in the 2nd round when it snakes back is what youre saying.

Old Dog 08-25-2012 07:25 PM

If it were me, I would take Charles in that spot instead, but if you're sold on Sproles, pick #16 (2.04) is your best bet. It's a heck of a reach at #9, but he certainly won't be there at #33.

12 teamed. We start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 W/T, 1 k, 1 D.

I think I killed it. I picked second.

QB - Romo, A. Smith
RB - Foster, Stewart, DeAngel Williams, Helu, Dwyer, Taiwan Jones
WR - Cruz, Welker, Mike Wallace, Garcon, DHB, Bennett, Cribbs
K - Akers
Ravens D.

We also get return points. No ppr. Standard scoring.

Can't be too unhappy with Romo in round six.

Not a huge fan. Don't hate it, but not a huge fan.

I dislike your top 3 wrs a lot this year. I think Welker has a slide, Cruz may do well, but I have my doubts, and Mike Wallace is going to be a wildcard.

No PPR will help Wallace, but I dislike Welker even more in a non-PPR.

The Bad Guy 08-25-2012 11:18 PM

Let me have it...
PPR. Start 3 WRs. 6 points per TD pass. Bonuses at 300 passing, 100 rushing and receiving. Had the 12th pick and kept DeMarco Murray.

QBs - Philip Rivers, Andrew Luck, Christian Ponder
RBs - DeMarco Murray, Doug Martin, Roy Helu, LaGarrette Blount, Bernard Scott, Robert Turbin
WRs - Fitz, Brandon Marshall, Antonio Brown, Pierre Garcon, Danny Amendola, Steve Smith STL, Andre Caldwell
TEs - Jared Cook, Owen Daniels
K - Matt Prater, Randy Bullocks
Def - Ravens
