Obviously he has to keep it up all throughout next year, because it gets tougher from here on out. We probably can't count on facing a bunch of backup QBs again. Alex has raised the bar with this performance. I expect 4,000 yards and 25 TD next season. He appears to be capable of that. Go get 'em, kid. |

With a full year in this system and an upgrade at WR and TE, 4,000 yards is reachable. |

I just don't see it, but 4000 yards would be nice. |

Jets won’t peek at Broncos this week, lest they see a QB
Posted by Darin Gantt on January 27, 2014, 6:09 PM EST Mark Sanchez, Tim Tebow AP The Jets are going to be in their own building this week, while the Broncos use it to get ready for the Super Bowl. But they’re going to do the best they can to stay inconspicuous. “We won’t go anywhere where there’s windows. We’ll be in the interior,” Jets General Manager John Idzik said, via Brian Costello of the New York Post. “We’re there anyway. We’ll be there through their practice. We won’t go anywhere within eyeshot of the Broncos, unless they ask us. We want to respect their privacy. We realize this is the culmination of their season. It’s the most important week of a lot of careers. We want to try to foster a good environment for them.” The Broncos are using the Jets’ fields, locker room, weight room and trainers’ facilities, but Jets officials are still around working on their offseason plans. Idzik said the Broncos have been “very sensitive,” to not being rude guests. So that makes it easier to not take a peek. Besides, looking out the window and seeing a great quarterback on the field might just confuse them. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...they-see-a-qb/ |

Geno Smith - QB - Jets
One longtime NFL personnel man told ESPN New York he thinks Geno Smith's body is "too soft," and questioned Smith's passion for football. "Does he love football or does he like football?" the talent evaluator asked rhetorically. "I don't think you just hand him the job," CBS' Rich Gannon added. "I think you make it a competitive situation. They have to get better at that position. They need more depth and talent there, and I anticipate that will happen this offseason." GM John Idzik has declined to commit to Geno as his 2014 starter, which is telling after Idzik made Smith the 39th overall pick in his first ever draft. Expect the Jets to pursue veteran competition as Gannon suggested, perhaps free agent Michael Vick or Matt Schaub once he's cut by Houston. Source: ESPN New York Feb 2 - 2:17 PM |

Jets should have pursued Alex Smith last year. |
This seems like a good day to bump this.

Rex Ryan and Co. could absolutely destroy any and every "can't miss" prospect to come off the board. They could take Mariota, and ruin him. |

Pretty sure that Rex and his coaching staff didn't coach Geno to throw 3 INTs in, what was it, 10 passing attempts? That was all natural talent.
|
Ryan ruins QBs, but Ryan took a shitty QB to the AFCCG two seasons in a row. MM sucks, but he had Michael Vick playing the best football of his NBA career when he was still in Philly. You need weapons around you if you're Mark Sanchez or Geno Smith, but a lack of weapons is no excuse for Alex Smith.
LMAO |
Smith looks pretty good today
|
Such butt hurt from the genobaters.
|
The Jets situation is nowhere near as bad as the shitfest that the Niners were when they drafted Smith. That Niners team ranks up with the crappiest teams in history in both coaching and player talent. Do you think Geno has the moxie in him to outlast 6 coordinators in 6 years and still be standing? I don't, I wouldn't be surprised to see Geno never heard of again after this season.
Haven't there already been reports of Geno whining like a little kid when he hasn't got his way? Geno and Alex in the same sentence is laughable. |
This thread is still funny...
|
can I chime in now?
