Go Royals!

Westbrook is one of the top 10-15 best players in the game. Never understood those who said his play hurt them or that he was somehow too selfish.

His play has hurt them at times but that doesn't mean he isn't a very good player.

He has his flaws, although he's minimized them as he's matured, but dude has always been a net positive without question. Especially with Harden gone; they needed him to be hyper-aggressive on offense.

KC_Connection 05-01-2013 09:18 PM

OKC's offense is brutal right now. Houston isn't exactly an excellent defensive team.

I agree they need him more now with Harden gone. But I agree with what I heard someone say the other day that Jordan took twice as many shots as Pippen did. That is the way it should work with Durant-Westbrook.

okcchief 05-01-2013 09:29 PM

It doesn't help when you keep Perkins on the floor for no god damned reason. I'm almost rooting for Houston at this point hoping Brooks finally gets raped for his atrocious lineups.

That is the stupidest point they ever make. Durant goes to the line a shit Ton. That reduces his attempts. Also, Westbrook is a much better offensive player than Scotty Pippen. We have no one for Westbrook to pass to to get assists because we barely run any offense to get Durant open, and our bigs can't catch and finish. I have been saying it all along. It's Scott Brooks not Russell Westbrook. Westbrook has had some blowups in the past but he has matured a great deal.

okcchief 05-01-2013 09:39 PM

I'm about to go to bed on a Thunder game for the first time I can remember. Glad I sold my tickets tonight.

Go Royals!

okcchief 05-01-2013 09:40 PM

PS Kevin Durant isn't a ****ING POINT GUARD!

KC_Connection 05-01-2013 09:45 PM

Loved Harden's play to get the 2 for 1 at the end of the 3rd there. Very smart basketball.

-King- 05-01-2013 09:45 PM

The Thunder are a prime example of what happens when a subpar coach loses a premier talent player.

And then some.

Rudy tossed tigger's salad 05-01-2013 09:48 PM

Well the Rockets look terrible offensively to start the 4th while the Thunder are just missing shots. A little nervous.

okcchief 05-01-2013 09:48 PM

Good news for Kev is the Grizzlies are one game from the WC Finals. Neither of these teams is beating them.

Rudy tossed tigger's salad 05-01-2013 09:50 PM

Holy shit, McHale...

I think their point is\was is that Durant hits 1 out every 2 shots he takes at minimum. That is not to diminish Westbrook just that Durant is that good where he can hit 50% of his shots.

Westbrook and Durant had found an equilibrium at this point. Westbrook's aggressiveness created openings and took attention away from Durant to allow him to do his thing. They needed Russ to take 20 shots a game without Harden around. Not to mention, that's playing to his strengths.

McHale, you might want to pull Asik.

KevB 05-01-2013 10:03 PM

OKC should fake the foul and draw another 80 foot shot from Harden.

Yes, the defensive attention paid to Westbrook helped Durant's efficiency.

KC_Connection 05-01-2013 10:06 PM

-King- 05-01-2013 10:06 PM

Can't believe this is really happening.

KevB 05-01-2013 10:09 PM

I'm concerned okc is going to drive to the arena and do something drastic to Brooks.

Rudy tossed tigger's salad 05-01-2013 10:09 PM

Can't believe they are still doing this. Working to an extent, but Houston's offense was pathetic prior to the fouling

dirk digler 05-01-2013 10:11 PM

wow

KC_Connection 05-01-2013 10:12 PM

Surprised they called that an offensive foul on Durant in that situation.

Al Bundy 05-01-2013 10:12 PM

I thought your feet had to be on the floor to draw an offensive foul? Or can you trip the guy making him fall into you to draw it?

dirk digler 05-01-2013 10:13 PM

Reggie Jackson has played well tonight

Lol don't worry. I'm just watching Kevin Durant play his intended point guard position. Why have him take shots? Brooks has a master plan.

dirk digler 05-01-2013 10:14 PM

JFC Houston is so stupid why are they taking so many quick shots.

Pitt Gorilla 05-01-2013 10:14 PM

Sure am glad we don't have that Harden guy playing for the Thunder.

KC_Connection 05-01-2013 10:14 PM

Maybe McHale was right to keep him in. His defense is still causing problems and they didn't lose that much offensively with FTs.

okcchief 05-01-2013 10:15 PM

I really wanted to go to bed. I just can't do it. This ****ing asshole is just sucking all of my joy for basketball.

Rudy tossed tigger's salad 05-01-2013 10:15 PM

And Houston still can't really hit much. Got a few calls though. Hack-a-Turk may have helped them. Offense has been in panic mode

I thought when Westbrook got hurt that their best chance was basically to plug Jackson into that role. Sure, he's not Westbrook, but he's a nice player. He's a good finisher, decent shooter and seems to have that irrational confidence that he'd need to do it.

I agree. No reason why he shouldn't take the starting PG role over moving forward

Good point, but McHale is a horrible coach as well.

KC_Connection 05-01-2013 10:20 PM

Why didn't the Thunder foul there?

okcchief 05-01-2013 10:21 PM

Harden wouldn't be as missed if Kevin Martin wasn't 1-10 from the field. We are going to lose soon. Doesn't matter to who. If Perkins and Martin are back I will be selling a lot of tickets next year.

Rudy tossed tigger's salad 05-01-2013 10:21 PM

Woo! Even without Westbrook, certainly didnt expect a Game 6! Harden came through

KC_Connection 05-01-2013 10:24 PM

OKC loses at home to the Houston Rockets. Championship contenders don't do that. Gotta think the Spurs come out of the West now.

If Martin is so crappy, why trade for him? If the Thunder were insistent upon getting rid of Harden, shouldn't they have received somebody who could help the team immediately?

Doesn't that show even more so what a ****ing idiot Brooks is? None of this would be happening if Durant wasn't playing point guard and chicken fighting to get open at the top of the Key. Plug in Reggie as Westbrook and start running some backdoor screens like the Pacers used to do for Reggie Miller. I owe an apology to Scott Brooks. He's a much worse coach than I even imagined. If they are the first team EVER to blow a 3-0 lead he should be fired. You still have Kevin Durant. There is no excuse for this shit. After this series there isn't much you can do, but Houston is not a good team.

dirk digler 05-01-2013 10:28 PM

Durant was 0-5 in the 4th

They might as well get Lamb experience now if he's going to shit the bed like this. He was good in the regular season, but this is inexcusable. He's been horrible.

I actually like Memphis.

KC_Connection 05-01-2013 10:30 PM

With OKC playing like this, Memphis might be the only real threat to the Spurs. They've beaten them before just two years ago. Of course, we're still a long way from that potential matchup.

Wait Lamb from Kentucky? Yall aren't playing him!? He's a great 3 pt shooter, :spock:?

Durant needs to spend 5 minutes with Lebron and have him give him pointers on how to make a team his.

Durant isn't anywhere near as good a creator as LeBron. He doesn't make people better to the same extent.

Miami also has way better shooters than OKC as well. Kevin Martin is usually good, but he's apparently a choker.

kcxiv 05-01-2013 10:40 PM

Durant knows how kobe felt back in 2005-2006. ya need help, cant do it by yourself. lol

It took me awhile but there is no doubt Lebron is head and shoulders better than KD as an all around player. KD is a great scorer but he doesn't do the things Lebron does.

KD says he is getting tired of always being #2 but he better get used to it. Not changing any time soon.

Many had a problem with the move, but this why LeBron had to leave Cleveland if they weren't going to get him some help. It was quite an achievement in itself for him to win 66 games and even make the finals with those teams.

Yep. People need to get over their Lebron hate (except for Cav fans) for what he did 3 years ago and just sit back and enjoy\appreciate him. He is a once in a generation type player.

Yep, I mean the East was WEAK back then, had like what 2 or 3 teams with 500 or lower records, thats when the west was just ****ing brutal. Anyways, its just hard when you got nothing.

Lebron a beast though, he's just so damn big and athletic. Would really love to see him play when there were alot of good centers in the league. sucks its nothing but PF's now days.

Marc Gasol is a damn good C. If Miami faces the Grizzies, that will be an interesting matchup. And the Spurs obviously have Duncan who is still a major defensive presence as well.

No doubt Lebron would get his, but it just be fun to see. Just like people would go nuts when Kobe and Jordan played against one another, even though kobe was like 18-19 lol

okcchief 05-01-2013 11:08 PM

I can't blame Durant for being frustrated. He's getting no help. This isn't a deep team especially if KMart is gonna play like this. If people were hitting wide open shots Durant and Westbrook would be better creators. Nobody is better than LeBron so that doesn't need to be addressed.

The Finals last year was Durant, Westbrook and Collison against the Heat. Since they have decided not have the big 3 they need to add shooters and a post scorer. Spread out the talent. This maybe a blessing because if Russ stays healthy and you get to the Finals they may stay pay. Weaknesses are being massively exposed.

Scott Brooks is stealing money. IMO the players (namely KD) convinced them to pay him last year. Pretty much they are going to keep him happy which they should. If he wants him gone he will be gone. KD is loyal to a fault so I don't foresee it happening. Load up with talent and hope for the best I guess.

IMO Brooks may have already cost them a ring last year by playing Perk. This year Miami was and is just better.
