What in the **** happened at Sporting Park tonight? I wasn't able to see any of the game. God ****.
|
Our defense is slow and Portland are a ****ing fast team. Our midfield is comprised of turds who can't stop a counter attack (actually they're usually the ones who lose the possession that leads to the counter attack). Not really much of a chance of Besler or Collin catching up to Chara or Nagbe. Still we should have put away shots and didn't. Last week I was able to blame MLS for scheduling us in games on different coasts with a two day break in between but this week I just have to be pissed off.
|
Zach was on the intro playing the timbers mascot LOLZ the game itself Sapong is playing out of position Nags sucks...up and down game. People not marking correctly at all.
|
I swear, I have no clue why Paulo N. is on this team - please find us a #6 worth a damn... Julio Cesar and Espinoza used to mask his deficiencies last year.. but he is just a big ol turd... im so done with him...
Seems like all the goals in the past 2 games come on the counter attack.. and there is no one in the midfield that is effing stopping them.. I miss Julio.. |
Yup no idea why naga is on the team either. Sapong is in a weird ass slump right now where every time he gets the ball he tries to recreate that moment against Chicago in 2011 where he dribbled around like 5 guys except now he just falls down then hides until he gets the ball and does it again. I honestly think that Soony Saad needs to start. He wasn't even a sub tonight.

Two solid teams trading punches and Sporting came out on the bad end. They have some things they need to improve on for sure the defense had some lapses. They will get things back on track. |
So we gone from tired legs in L.A. to our equal (perhaps a better team) just getting the best of us....
It sounds like we're starting to make excuses. You can't win them all, but from what I'm reading about last night's game and what I saw of the L.A. game, this team needs something from an emotional enema to a good swift kick in the pants. I hope they get it fixed soon, unlike baseball, each game really matters. |
Had the wife and kids in tow last night so we were sitting east side Cauldron. So many miscues as far as midfield passing. Myers in spite of two goals had several horrific misplays on crosses. I think Portland having Harrington helped them as well. He knew tendencies. With Jacob Peterson showing as he did, Nago may be the odd man out. Too bad Saad was ill all week. Sapong looked gassed in the first 45, let alone after the break. Not many teams can run with SKC. Portland can.....
|
Unfortunately, I think that the Portland and LAG games aren't coincidences. Both relied on a strong, fast counterattack to our free-flowing offense. Our D, including the d-mids, needs to step it up big time, or make a drastic change to our positioning/formation.

Btw the ref was awful. |
Jacob Peterson is without a doubt my favorite player and I hope he continues to see time.
I don't want to make sound like I am making excuses but I really have very few problems with what is going on because it is exactly what we thought it was going to be. This is a team that lost two of its main players to the EPL last year and is still figuring out what combinations and strategies work the best. Each game does count this isn't baseball but it also isn't the NFL. LAG were total horse shit for about half the year until they turned it on to win the MLS Cup. Houston has been known to drift at times during the regular season and they are two time conference champions. I would be more worried if I were not convinced all the pieces were not there. They are there I think they just need to be used a bit differently. I think we should sit CJ for a while and shake up the front. |

From my perspective at my second game ever, it seemed like whenever Colin moves up to the midfield area to chase after a ball, Portland was able to exploit the situation and start an attack. The passing on our end seemed pretty bad in general, but Collin was more of a disappointment to me.
I just started watching soccer about two years ago, so I apologize that this isn't the most informed perspective, and I do tend to miss quite a bit. |

I was taking photos last night so my perspective of the game is a lil hazy I need to watch it again. |
Header updated.

LOL, Chivas' keeper got red-carded.
In other good news, Kei will be coming back! |
Zusi!!!
|
Big day!

Wow.... I guess that'll lift our spirits for a while. Great and dominating win...
|
I was there. Was a great game to watch. SKC was dominant even before Kennedy got sent off.
|
Zach where do you think the lineup goes heading forward? I agree with your sentiments about Jacob P. He is relentless and is so difficult to defend. Kamara back may not be long term obviously but does it move Zusi back to MF with Benny? Or does Benny even return to the starting 11? Nago looked beat up and perhaps a question mark for Wednesday. Finally I heard one of the post game commentators on 810 saying he felt Rosell may need to sit for a bit due to poor play. I about drove off the road! Am I missing something? So many plots for sure!
|
I'm making a trip back to KC in October to catch the USA vs Jamaica - then Chiefs/Raiders two days later.
Anyone hear when the WC qualifier tix go on sale? |
Finally a dominant win!!
|
Jacob P has to be in the lineup. Kei is mehhhh.

Thanks for yet another craptastic loss against Seattle in stoppage time KC. I'll never hear the end of it at work.
|
SKC has too much talent to play this shitty.
|
There were a few Chiefs in attendance tonight. Jamaal Charles, Mardy Gilyard, and Berry were there.
|
I was watching the highlights. My god Collin what sort of an attempt at a clear was that. Wasn't that a handball though?
|
gus johnson calling the FA Cup final...kind of awesome
wiggan blew a great early chance...espinoza playing for wiggan, of course |
wiggan scores in 91st min
|
Gus Johnson just impregnated the entire stadium. The load he blew on that goal was beyond monumental. I don't care if he has so many detractors, Johnson is a GREAT thing for soccer in the US. They need someone to be unapologetically excited and to keep the more "boring" (to the non-fan) parts interesting.

If he doesn't, I'll take them. I know people who could use them. |
What does this mean?
@RobbHeineman 9m Some pretty good player stuff starting to swirl....lots of foreign interest in SKC. |

I don't think Robb would have Good and Zusi leaving in the same sentence. I would think it would be national teams wanting their players for duty?

ESPN is unveiling a daily soccer highlight show that will focus primarily on MLS. It is going to be called "ESPNFC".
ESPN ramping up MLS coverage in response to losing the Premier League to NBC. This bodes very well for the league, guys. TLDR article: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2...r-coverage-epl |
that is cool

Match day...
|
Was really hoping for a win there.
|
Looking for 2 cheap tickets to June 1st match.
Anyone have any tips besides ticketmaster? |
Champions league final has been pretty awesome
Bayern scored, about 5 mins later Dortmund gets a penalty kick and equalizes in the 70th minute |
and an incredible save at the goal by subotic, on a bayern breakaway...
an inch away from a score |
robben scores a preposterous goal in the 89th minute...slices through 3 defenders
2-1 bayern |
Yeah, great game. Some luck by Ribery with that horrible back-heel. Got through to Robben though.
|
Lewandowski's double-stamp was disappointing.
|
It was about time Bayern wins.
|
Not a bad result against an arch rival. Good job by the ref to overturn that penalty call, as it was a terrible call. Beautiful goal by Kei Kamara, and awesome late game tackle by Nagamura to clinch the point.

Agreed... The home field advantage nneds to be just that...

Could they have played better? Sure. The refs took a goal off the board that was legal...they admitted it themselves. Damn that sucked. |

But yeah the MLS doesn't have anything like (NFL) GamePass, so to be able to watch the games, they need to be played on a saturday (so i see them on the sunday) and then I need to find a live stream. It's like watching the Chiefs 5 years ago. |
