but 90% of the people I talk to about this, and even an entire facebook message chat between a league of 14 guys where 13 objected to the idea of an OP league...completely reject it because it's not what they are "used" to... they like the leagues that are "realistic" where RB's account for 30 of the first 40 picks...where starting 3 RB's is realistic but starting 2 QB's isn't!!! It's ****ing reeruned. I tell you what, I'll set up a 12 team league just like the one I linked and I'll invite all of you to play...$50 a man and I'll add an additional $100 to my $50 buy in to the prize pool...we'll play a year and then at the very end tell me it wasn't the most competitive, thought invoking fantasy football league you've ever been in. I hear every week people complaining about how "unlucky" they are etc. etc. etc. Play in a league that starts 3 WR's, a FLEX and an OP and then tell me how unlucky you get...the cream always rises in this league. This year, the top 6 point scorers all made the playoffs (6 teams make the playoffs)... The way I have this league set up makes for the absolute most realistic and skillful FFL. Plain and simple. I guarantee in 5 years 2 QB (or OP) leagues will be the norm. Just guarantee it. |
I don't think anyone has said your style or league isn't fun or competitive.
I enjoy the standard leagues I'm in now. I don't need a used car salesman to tell me he's right about something that's completely and totally irrelevant. At least to me. |
Quote:
the strategy is RB, RB, RB, WR, WR, TE, WR, QB, QB, RB, RB, FLEX, FLEX it's ****ing mindless and scripted...my sister could look at the ESPN rankings list and draft RB after RB and win a league... that doesn't happen in the leagues with OP and the way I have it set up...it actually takes skill, and the skill factor has been totally eliminated in traditional, 1 QB leagues because of ESPN and cheat sheets and the experts not so in my league |
I understand where you're coming from. But, you don't need to force feed us your way when it isn't the right or wrong way.
What does it matter to you what sort of formatted leagues we play in? |
well that's fine but in previous debates about this topic people have scoffed at the idea and refuse to even try an OP league...it's RIDICULOUS
and I have never heard one good rebuttal about it, either...every time I mention the fact that in 10 team traditional guys like Tony Romo, Carson Palmer, Josh Freeman, Matt Schaub, Eli Manning, Joe Flacco, Russel Wilson, Ben Roethlisberger, Philip Rivers, Jay Cutler, Colin Kaepernick ETC DON'T EVEN PLAY But any stiff that gets a carry is a FLEX player...people start Alex Greene every week over Eli ****ING Manning. Ryan Broyles over Ben Roethlisberger. REALISTIC! |

I absolutely hated my two qb leagues. hated them. i will always play in one qb leagues, and deal with a surplus of talent at a position. if you're into them, more power to you, but don't act like EVERYBODY prefers it.
|
I feel like the only ones who don't prefer them don't understand them.
"OMG QB's are going before RB's?! What do I do!?" - sort of thing I will say...I would almost guarantee I'd win, at the very least, the points title against any 11 guys who wanted to play me in my 12 team, OP league I linked to earlier. People are so stuck in their ways they would have no idea how to manage that draft like me and the 11 guys I play with every year. It would just be a raping. |
I'm skeptical about out of the ordinary ffls.
3 or 4 years ago I joined my first IDP league. It is so unique and different. I really enjoy it. I'm sure I would enjoy two QB leagues to. But is that the right way to play ffl? Not necessarily. Is one QB leagues the right way to play ffl? Not necessarily. I'm not going to beat a to a pulp for being passionate about something you and enjoy and that provides you with additional income. But, I'm also expecting you to respect my choice to play in whatever leagues I choose to whether you interpret them right way to play or not. |
can't disagree with you there just wish people would give them a shot
|
Dude......do this.
Set up a 2 QB CP league so that people can try it out next season. |
Quote:
Would rather try a free version of it first though, to be honest. |
I despise fantasy football. I started 8-0 and then everything went south and now I'm getting blasted in the playoffs. When you're in first place from wire to wire, late-season injuries destroy you because you can't get anyone on the waiver wire.

Had a bye last week. This week I have a few brutal decisions.
Pick 3...2 have to be running backs 1 pt PPR, 4 pt passing tds. Murray vs. Pit McFadden vs. KC Britt vs. NYJ Jennings vs. Chi Moreno vs. Bal Also...Luck @ Houston or Kaepernick @NE Currently leaning towards Murray DMC and Britt. And Kaep at QB. |
Moreno is the only no brainer IMO. The others...
McFadden Murray Kaepernick |
I love Kaepernick, I really do.
but New England always does good against young QB's so we shall see |
We start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 W/T, 1 Flex, 1 K, 1 D.
Right now: Romo Foster DMC Cruz Welker Garcon Alexander Janikowski Miami D BN Wilson BN D. Williams BN J. Stewart BN Dwyer BN DHB BN Miller BN Myers BN Denver D Look about right? |
Don't see any viable changes CJ
You like Rodgers @ Chicago or Freeman @ New Orleans? |
Quote:
But, I'm also pretty stubborn. LMAO |

|
I expect New England to do what they always do...take away one big thing for Kaepernick. I feel like they are going to focus on making him beat them with his arm and try to take away Crabtree.
|
So if RG3 doesn't play this week I feel it hurts Garcon's value tremendously.
Do you swap him and Alexander and put Dwyer in the flex? |
monitor Bradshaw, but if he's out I would go with Wilson > Dwyer
|
Quote:
shit, my bad - Wilson on my team is Russell Wilson. |
oops....was thinking wrong one....yeah, Dwyer then IMO
|
Cousins can throw the ball though.
I still sort of kind of hope RG3 plays. it'd make this decision alot easier! LMAO |
Have to choose two...
Bryce Brown vs CIN Murray vs PIT Lynch vs BUF Lynch is pretty much a no brainer, but the other two are tough. Murray is facing a good run D, but has been producing. Brown was phenominal two out of the last three weeks, but shit his big boy pants last game. |
Semi Finals this week and I need help at QB. Dalton at the Iggles or Ryan at home against Giants. I lean towards Dalton as this is a largely TD league, with some points awarded for yardage, but not enough. I am afraid Ryan will throw at least 3 picks.
Also would you start Giants or Packers DEF? |
OK, my kickers are both injured. Waiver wire guys are:
Suisham Vinatieri Succop Lindell Hauschka Henery Carpenter Crosby Feely Scobee Already put a claim on Crosby, who else should I consider based on matchup? Defenses are Giants @ ATL (ouch) and Redskins @ CLE. I would have to drop a D to pick another one up. Stick with NYG and hope for points not related to points allowed? Go with Washington? Drop Washington and pick up a matchup based D? RBs are Rice and Steven Jackson. Could drop an IR RB and pick up DeAnlgelo Williams or David Wilson (Bradshaw possible knee issues) but do either of them warrant a start over a steady but unimpressive Jackson (@Min)? |
I like Wilson more than Jackson if Bradshaw is out.
|
My takes on the last few
WV - Lynch and Brown Renegade - Ryan and Packers jsp - Suisham and matchup depending on who's out there (look priamarily for Lions, Bengals, Raiders) and Jackson at home against Minnesota |
Thanks Old dog, that is the way I was leaning
|
Have to choose one. I win this week, I'm into the finals.
CJ Spiller vs Seattle Josh Gordon vs Washington Fred Jackson is out for the year so FINALLY Spiller can be used like a proper #1 back, but Gordon has been on fire the last few weeks, and Washington's secondary is garbage. I feel like this is a clear trap play to play Gordon, Spiller has been a stud all year in limited action. But I'd like to confirm anyway. |
Would be Spiller if I had the decision.
|
Quote:
Starting lineup now looks like this: Matt Ryan Jamaal Charles CJ2K Vincent Jackson Reggie Wayne Clay Harbor (****ing Gronk...) Spiller vs Tony Romo Doug Martin Trent Richardson Megatron Denarious Moore Brandon Myers Darren Sproles I think I have him. |
Without knowing the defenses, I would take the other team
|
Quote:
|
OK, based on only the portion of the lineups you listed, I'll take the other team.
|
Would anyone start Rivers over Luck this week?
Rivers is home vs Carolina Luck is on the road vs Houston |
Standard scoring, non-PPR. Need to choose 2 RB's and a flex from the following:
J. Charles (Gonna start him) J. Dwyer Bryce Brown D. Mc Fadden Sidney Rice I'm leaning towards Charles, McFadden, and Dwyer. But have to decide on Brown because they play tonight. Any help would be appreciated. |

California - Charles, Brown, McFadden
Canadian - No |

Sit 1 RB out of the following 4 (2 teams, locks are bolded).
<b>Alf Morris David Wilson</b> S-Jax Ridley and <b>Doug Martin Alf Morris</b> Knowshon Ridley I know Ridley's been nails in tough matchups this year, but SF has the #1 rush D. I'm leaning towards benching him in both. |
Well Brown laid a big egg for me last night so I am rethinking my WR for this week in a TD only league. Help me pick one of the following (Cruz is a lock)
1. J. Graham vs Tampa (TE counts as WR) 2. C. Shorts vs Miami 3. R. Cobb vs Chicago |

PPR league with 6 pts for TDs. RG3 or Romo? Also McFadden or Richardson?

First round of my playoffs and I'm the number one seed and would hate to make an early exit. Who should I play as my flex?
James Jones Vs. The Bears Or Montell Owens Vs. The Dolphins |
Quote:
HOWEVER, it sounds like you're wanting to start Romo...don't let some idiot (ME) talk you into going against what your gut says. If it turns out you were right you'll hate yourself for it. |

Hypothetically, if RG3 is out. Do you swap Garcon @ Cleveland for Dwyer @ Dallas?
I've also got Heath Miller @ Dallas. |
my gut was to bench Bryce Brown but then I thought about his last two primetime games and kept him in...
damnit |
Danario Alexander vs. the Panthers
-or- Randall Cobb vs. the Bears This decision could win me an extra 300 bucks if I win, so no pressure. |
Quote:
Unless there's some weird, quirky scoring. |
RG3 is out.....Cousins is in.
Browns defense vs. Redskins or Jets defense vs. Titans |
Quote:
And Browns D over the Jets is my pick. |
One more decision I need help with. Sproles or Wilson as my flex in a ppr league?
|
Quote:
Alexander has been tearing it up, but Jordy Nelson is out, and Rodgers has been looking Cobb's way a lot. My starting WR's as of right now - Randall Cobb, Calvin Johnson, Julio Jones. Bench - Alexander, Danny Amendola, Anquan Boldin |
Quote:
|
I have Schaub, Palmer and Kaepernick. I can only start one.
Schaub- needs to redeem his team big time but I see them running all day. Palmer - has been solid fantasy wise pretty much all year in our PPR league that gives a .25(quarter of a point) for ever completed pass and going against our beloved Chiefs at home. Kaepernick - has been hot but Bellichek knows how to scheme very well and especially against rookie QBs. I actually think Bill is going to limit Colin pretty well. What say you ? |
Quote:
It's the Alexander/Cobb thing that's driving me nuts..... |
Quote:
Atlanta at home with Ryan is nearly unbeatable. How have the Giants looked defending the pass, because I just don't have faith in th eFalcons' run game. I'm inclined to say Palmer. He lit us up in KC, and has put up decent numbers this year. |

Here is an article from Dec 1st about the Giants secondary that might be able to help make that decision for you. http://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2...ing_in_ex.html |
Well as of now I've decided to keep Garçon in.
|
Greg Jennings or Amendola?
Finley or Vernon Davis? I'm leaning toward Amendola and Davis. It is a PPR. |
Quote:
What say you, Chiefsplanet -- Broncos D @ Baltimore, or Miami @ home against JAX? |
Quote:
What do you think about Sproles or Wilson as a flex in a ppr? |
Quote:
|
Quote:
They say Richardson is "under the weather". What the hell does that mean...green apple splatters???? |
Quote:
I wouldn't put much stock into the "under the weather" reports. I would still expect him to get a lot of work. |
Quote:
Sproles and Wilson are a wash because both will be targeted a lot and I actually see Wilson getting targeted just a little more today and with his confidence flying high I think he continues where he left off last week. Both teams need this game but the Giants need it worse and the Falcons are starting to show cracks and have not played well this last month. Giants front four will be up Ryan's ass this week. |
