I had Billy Cundiff, who only played in 5 games in 2012, so it was an easy decision to cut him. I would have liked replacing him with a longer term option, but kickers were surprisingly scarce and I didn't want to try to outbid anyone for the few FAs available, given how up and down these guys are. I figure I can go back to the drawing board next year.

I'd like to report either a bug or a feature that I find inconvenient. Normally when I sort the Free Agent Auction page on Time Remaining (longest to shortest), I get the players that have already received winning bids first and then all the players that are still up for grabs. But when I've won enough players to put me over the 53 man roster limit and do it, all the "winning bid" players are gone. Once I get back under the roster limit, they reappear.

This makes it harder to announce signees and I can't think of a benefit or a reason for the list to work this way.

BTW, I think I signed Rasheed Jennings (HB) and Rod Streater (WR). I cut Cedric Benson (HB) and Early Doucet (WR).

Yeah, something's a little funky there. It knows they're winning bids, but they don't show up. If you sort by "High bidder", you'll see the winning bids because they have a team name but no time on the clock and no "Winning Bidder" notice. We need to fix that, thanks.

So I'm trying to figure out how the hell Kirkpatrick went undrafted and I see he actually was drafted in the 2nd.

Did someone actually cut their 2nd round pick?

This is a strange league y'all have here...

DJ's left nut 06-18-2013 10:51 AM

And if there's a dead team in here, I'll help babysit if you need an owner.

That said, I'll be the Clark Hunt of League Two. While I'll make all attempts to field a competitive team, my true passion will be the Columbus Crew...er, I mean the Clearwater Donkeys.

Someone must've cut him. All of a sudden there was a bid on him and I'm sure he wasn't there before, so the cash-rich Rancho franchise figured he was worth a shot and upped it.

Richard Sherman's going to cost $450 and someone actually cut a 1st round caliber CB.

Well that's just silly.

Sure, I'd be delighted. I had to pick up a couple of teams recently whose owners appeared to be AWOL, so I've got too much. I'm not sure what cdcox's schedule is like right now, so it may take him a day or two to do the transfer.

Cool.

They're so cornerback rich that maybe there's some fun trade activity possible, too. They've got a great back eight on D that will need to overcome some weakness on the line. The offense is going to be an interesting proposition as well.

I'll let cdcox know.

I mostly have something of a mancrush on Chandler Jones, that was the final factor. I took him at 13 overall in League 1, so I'm clearly a fan.

You're right, though - there are a bunch of CBs on that squad.

Probably will be; Von Miller pretty much locks me into a 4-3. I'll need to get depth charts put together, but when I'm set there I'll start figuring out where I want to go with these guys.

Signed local KC long snapper, Beau Brinkley (long snap specialist). Cut mush head Austin Collie (WR).

I hope there's value in carrying a long snapper, but I'm guessing there's not.

I've found that it happens to me pretty often, I don't even have to close the browser to correct it.
I just erase the everything in the url after index.php (which for me usually says "/my_team/manage_roster/134"), and I'm good.

DJ's left nut 06-18-2013 03:07 PM

Okay, have the depth chart set up and can probably dip my toes in the trade market.

Some available players:

AJ Hawk
Jerome Harrison
Rocky McIntosh

Brett Keisel
CJ Wilson

Nnamdi Asomugha
A. Cromartie

My needs at this point:

4-3 DE
WR
TE

If you're interested, lemme know. I don't anticipate being terribly pro-active on the trade front just yet, but I'll listen to all offers that come my way.

Rain Man 06-19-2013 12:57 PM

In a big trade, the Provo Lone Wolf Pack and St. Louis Spiders make a multi-player trade.

Provo receives:

HB Maurice Jones-Drew
TE Brandon Myers
DE Jared Odrick
CB Sean Smith

St. Louis receives:

DE Greg Hardy
LB Kevin Burnett
WR Michael Jenkins
TE Jeff Cumberland
CB Jimmy Smith

DJ's left nut 06-19-2013 01:04 PM

The Spiders just making shit happen out there:

Little Rock receives:

Robert Quinn

St. Louis receives:

Tarell Brown
James Harrison

TambaBerry 06-19-2013 01:06 PM

I think the Spiders are content now.

DJ's left nut 06-19-2013 01:09 PM

I could still use help at WR and TE but can no longer deal Cromartie; best offer for him or Brown took it and Quinn's 5-years and potential as a young pass-rusher sold me on it. I was looking to firm up my bookend pass-rushers and I think Quinn and Jones should be strong in that regard for quite some time.

Could still move Asomugha or AJ Hawk; both guys would be pretty useful for several teams.

cdcox 06-19-2013 03:50 PM

Some of this is old news but the Los Angeles Knights have signed:

Starting CB: Brandon Bowener
Situational relief pass rusher: Kroy Beirmann

Which brings us to exactly 53, so no releases.

I took Seattle over as a babysitting team late in free agency, but this team is so strong that they used nearly all of their money to lock down the talent they already had. Pretty impressive team.

The roster upheaval continues for the Vancouver Volcanoes (KCF)

I'm gonna drop:

Andrew Gachkar (3-4 left inside LB back up SD) 3 yr. contract
Tahir Whitehead (4-3 right outside LB back up DL) 3 yr. contract
Ryan Mallet 4 yr. contract

If someone would like to avoid the bidding process, shoot me a trade offer. I'm willing to take a used Kleenex.

Adrian Peterson is still on the block, I have had some pretty good offers nothing worth trading for I think. Let me know what you think.

I sent you an offer that is well more than a used Kleenex.
