The defense.

Alex Smith, with an elite defense, is incredibly underrated.

With a lead, he's a very efficient, smart NFL QB. With a lead, Andy Reid is a very good playcaller as well.

If the defense is a top 3 NFL defense, we'd be legit Super Bowl contenders and our offense would be a strength as well.

I like the idea of drafting another pass rusher at 18. Hali / Houston / Ford / 1st round pick would be fearsome.

Yep we know he sucks ass trying to come back to win a game. Alex was horrid last year in the 2 minute drill.

It all starts with Alex-if he sucks as bad as he did last year -we will be 8-8.

The BBQ restaurants around KC need to step it up. The Walrus needs food.

The fans need to step up. When this team starts 3-5 or 4-6 or whatever, just stop going to the games. Don't support a middling team. Save your money, it's nothing you haven't seen before. Stay home, jerk off, play Call of Duty and read the excuses in the Star the next morning.

And if they start 6-3 or something, should we fly a "it's a mirage don't fall for it" banner?

No, we should by Clark some more Consort hair spray for men.

so many people it's scary.

offense
1. Always the QB
2. offensive line ..... the entire thing.
3. Albert Wilson (unless we draft a impact guy, he has to produce)
4. Reid has to stop with the roller coasting play calling shit, get it right

defense
1. #2 corner don't even know who it is yet, yikes)
2. safeties(don't think Berry is going to be back yet)
3. Mauga (if he really is the guy he needs to stop playing like a pussy)
4. Poe was a little down last year(tired?) need to start back upward

We'll be fine at CB2. There's a lot of competition among a handful of pretty young guys with quite a bit of experience. This will get even better if we go CB in the 1st or 2nd round.

The players who have a legit shot at the position were all on the team last year, and a few of them took turns to start until injuries got in the way. And if I remember correctly, our pass defense wasn't half bad last year.

Also consider that we'll almost assuredly get an upgrade from Owens, who played spectacularly awful last year, and there really isn't that big of a need for a "step up" at the position, at least compared to some other players that really need to not suck shit (all ILBs, Ford, the safeties, etc.)

I'd fly a "remain cautious" banner.

Chiefs chairman Clark Hunt said ILB Derrick Johnson's roster spot is safe.
Johnson is coming off a torn Achilles' tendon, is 32 years old and the cap-strapped Chiefs could free up $5.2 million by cutting him. But they're counting on his return (as well as Mike DeVito's) to correct a run defense that ranked 28th in the league last year. "In terms of the modern era of the Chiefs, it’s hard to think about the club without thinking about Derrick at inside linebacker. ... We’re looking forward to having him back this year, hopefully good as new," Hunt said.
Little DJ news.
