been running Mint OS (debian) on my 250GB 850 EVO, honestly haven't noticed a real difference in doing stuff from my Windows 2x7200rpm RAID0 HDD setup (other than the obvious OS bits) but I don't really hardcore play uber intensive games much these days anyway

The only difference you'll notice in games is loading times like switching zones in WoW, or loading a map in a fps game.

Lots of games stream world textures from the HDD as they are loaded into view distance etc. You will see massive improvements in that as well

got my 970 in today, HUGE ****ing difference when gaming, the smoothness when moving is very very very noticeable. i guess thats FPS lol.
