The measurement is absolutely thumb to pinky.

Nytimes is where I always get my sports information.

I don't know you didn't exactly post his thumb...

I mean, you don't grip a football with your hand stretched to the max but the proper way to grip a football to throw it has your hand naturally stretched out.

I mean seriously, I'm supposed to believe that my hand is almost the same size as the average QB in the draft?

If you look up past combine profiles on NFL.com, they all mention hand span.

http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/...aclin?id=80429
http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/...nicks?id=80672
http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/...fford?id=79860
http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/...llace?id=81877

So on and so forth.

AustinChief 02-22-2013 08:33 PM

Guys, hand SPAN is far more useful a measure, arguing otherwise is ridiculous. (I can't see how anyone who has thrown a football can't see that) That doesn't mean that it is what the NFL uses... BUT the vast vast majority of sources claim that it is.

Dude I'm 6'3" and have pretty big hands...I could take a picture and post them if you want. I'm not an NFL QB and although I can throw a baseball pretty far I can't throw a football much further than 40-45 yards (probably because I want to throw it like a baseball).

On my THREE TIME DEFENDING CHAMPION FLAG FOOTBALL TEAM our QB is 5'8" 235 lbs and he has a ****ing HOWITZER cannon...his hands are approximately the same size as mine. The dude can literally throw it 60 yards on a rope...he's amazing. Literally the best QB in our league and it's not close.

THE MORAL OF THE STORY IS...these QB's are human beings and they aren't FREAKS like LeBron James or NBA players who are ABNORMALLY tall.

That combine picture of Tom Brady with his shirt off looks pretty much how I look with a ****ing shirt off...I just can't throw a football 65 yards on a rope with precision accuracy.

Just because they are great QB's doesn't mean they have to have superhuman hands...they are still human beings

BossChief 02-22-2013 08:36 PM

And I know, I need to set my watch ack an hour...it's a citizen perpetual calendar Eco drive and I don't like having to do it...I just remember that it's an hour ahead.

This is hard to believe to me but what ever lol
