I don't think I'll get any credit so don't even worry about it, but I do appreciate the thought. Seeing a small businesses succeed is always nice as well. And yeah, if that color is in the Dura Coat catalog, he can get it for you.

Here's a pretty good reference site.

I'm pretty much gunned out at this point. The XDM I got will be the last new one I get for a while.

Next up - a Geissele replacement trigger for the AR. I'm still debating whether I want a regular or two stage.

Ordered the trigger - hopefully I'll have it delivered and installed by next weekend and it won't be 100 ****ing degrees outside so I can try it out.

I got mine from Primary Arms, so it was about $15 less.

I just bought my squirrel rifle for around my yard. 90 bucks at Wall-mart
22 Beeman pellet rifle. squirts the pellet at just under 800 fps.
It came with both .177 & 22 barrel. Pretty accurate out to 25 yards.
Should have no probs hitting minute of squirrel. & my neighborhood is over run with the dam tree rats. They are awesome at tearing my yard up. That is about to change!!

Finally finished installing this bitch. It was not a pleasant experience, but I'm sure it will be worth it when I get it out on the range.

The tips of my thumbs feel like they've been slammed in a car door. :cuss:

Triggers make a night and day difference in how these shoot. I replaced the factory one in mine with a 4lb Jard. You'll like yours with that trigger.

I can already tell the difference just testing it. Can't wait to try it out.

And a word of advice to anyone installing one of these - wear gloves.

Sweet. When I First went out to shoot mine after the new trigger, it took a bit of getting used to. 4 lbs isn't exactly bench rest material but its a hell of alot lighter than the factory unit. I was squeezing off shots before I was actually ready until I got used to the lighter pull. Now I wouldn't have a long range target or a varmint rifle setup on the AR platform without it.

Frazod 07-08-2011 11:12 PM

I think this one is 3.5 IIRC.

johnny961 07-08-2011 11:19 PM

Thats a good weight. IMO anything under 3 lbs is too light. A buddy of mine had a 2lb in his rifle and let me shoot it one weekend we went on a prairie dog shoot. I didn't care for it.

You need to be in the picture so we can get a true measure of the size of that beast.

Love that new trigger!

Here's my last couple, at 100 yards. I can probably do a bit better, but I think I'm pretty much at the limit of the red dot set-up. I guess the next step is to get a real scope. And find a longer range.

Looks good man. I would think you are right about that red dot setup. Not high enough resolution for one hole groups if thats what you're looking for.
