This was KSU's chance to win the B12 and they wasted it. They could still get a share, but KU and OSU have better shots.

It's funny taht when we play smart fast physical basketball, getting the ball in the paint, we play likely our best game of the year.

The BCS title game drew 26M viewers, and that was with Notre Dame in it. The NCAA hoops game drew 20M.

The ad rate for the BCS title game last year was 750K for 30 seconds. For the mens basketball game it was 1.3M.

Attendance for D1 football was 35M and for D1 basketball it was 33M. PRetend all you want that football is "all that matters".

Ass firmly and swiftly kicked, as usual. Just got back from the game. The atmosphere was great, but the game sucked royally for me. It is very typical of many of the games I have seen in Lawrence over the last several years.

Congrats to ku and their fans. We were stripped of our dignity tonight.

silver5liter 02-12-2013 12:14 AM

This should earn tharpe the starting pg position. I really think that elijah dribbles too high and is too tall to run the point for being such a sloppy passer and dribbler. Its real easy for players to trip him up or to pick the ball off from him while dribbling. Where tharpe is 5-11, and has a real low center of gravity.

I don't think height has much to do with EJ's problems handling the PG position. He's actually a fine size for it. He just lacks vision and passing ability and is too careless with the ball.

It's going to take more than one good game in two months for Tharpe to start over EJ, though I do think he should be playing more minutes (especially in a two guard set) if only to try something else with this group.

If you watch him, he just seems to dribble very high most of the time. Also his little behind the back dribble/360 spin/ turn over move is very annoying.

Fairplay 02-12-2013 12:54 AM

KU playing dominantly which they really needed. Maybe they will get their groove back. Okie State around the corner fellas, act like you own the court.

Pants 02-12-2013 12:55 AM

Tharpe can look passes off while EJ locks in and telegraphs that shit. Tharpe is quicker than shit, but EJ is a way way better defender when healthy.

Prison Bitch 02-12-2013 01:01 AM

EJ with another abortion tonight. 1-6 with 4 turnovers. It's like the guy is a teachers pet, getting this special treatment. Had Ben not gone off, that game might've been in single digits and EJ would've done his best to keep it tight.

After two months of his crap, I'm ready o play Anrio over him. And Self is starting to agree.

EJ should start to heat up around tournament time, keep him fresh until then.

Looked good tonight bit keep in m8nd we still have to play @ISU @OSU @Baylor. The other three best teams in the conference. We cant even beat TCU on the rd. I expect 2 more losses..just hope everyone else keeps losing 2

I really dont. I think losing to osu at home put us in a funk. Think we go on a run til the end of the season. Maybe one loss thrown in but not sure where.

Well, if they win one of those, they probably still win the conference at 13-5 (provided they win the remaining four home games against UT, WVU, TCU, and TTU). Especially if that road win is the OSU game.

UT is getting Kabongo back this week, so that game could be a little more than meets the eye. KU obviously can't afford any more letdowns in focus/confidence at this point if they want to win the B12.

Ej is a better defender, no doubt. But I think Tharpe had improved in that area over the course of the season. That may be the main reason why EJ still retains starting pg spot.

I realize the need to go back to the Steve Henson days man but really? You guys don't need to whip that out now, do you? I had never heard that from state fans and I have many I went to High School with.

Don't know what to tell you. I don't use that term as much anymore. I used to throw it out liberally to my Beaker friends when we were in school, but not so much anymore. My point is, that isn't a term reserved solely for the muTT's to use.

I doubt Tharpe shooting 26% over conference play with a poor assist/turnover ratio was helping his chances much either. If he plays like he did yesterday, though, they'll just have to live with his defense.

His defense seemed better than Johnsons yesterday.(not counting the and one of course)

Silock 02-12-2013 01:35 PM

He played defense decently against OU, I thought. Forced a big five second count.

On the ranking thing, it's so ****ed up it isn't funny. KSU being above us isn't nearly as egregious as Indiana at 1 and Puke at 2.
