Looks like I successfully stopped the draft board from advancing until morning. If you are on the clock, you can still pick. You can still play with your draftboard. But if you come up "on the clock" the next person won't get activated while you are asleep.

this sounds pretty cool, but I don't think I have time to learn a new game right now.

You really can't do anything on the website if you're on an android.

Guys who didn't play last year didn't get populated into the list. Since Dumervil was out all year, we need to add him and any other full-year inactives. If you identify these players, please pm cdcox about them.

Hmm. I appear to have a minor glitch in my system in the rookie draft. I'm trying to draft a player and it's not working in either autodraft or manual. I've pm'ed cdcox about it and will make my pick as soon as possible.

Anyone else getting a situation where they draft a guy in manual and the button works, but the guy doesn't get drafted? How'd you work around it?

There goes Calvin Johnson. Some of the guys who were on the clock all night are picking up the scraps.

Springfield and Des Moines appear to be stockpiling picks so they can draft an entire offense or defense at once.

If the Wichita Potheads can find a QB, AJ Green and Andre Johnson should be interesting.

For some reason, I think Ryan Mallett would be a good fit for that team.

Right. A guy who threw for 25 td's and only 6 picks in his second year is better than some of the other qb's taken. The guy is a stud and hasn't even reached his ceiling yet.

Still QUITE a bit of risk there. I thought hard about Freeman, it was either him or Flacco.

I went with the "safe pick", the guy who puts up solid results 3 years solid now and who also, in my opinion, hasnt reached his ceiling.

Just to be sure, you have to click a "From" team and a "To" team for each part of the transaction. Are you doing that?

So to make a trade you have to ...


...click a "From" team
...input what you want that team to give up
...click a "To" team
...click "Add to transaction" or whatever it's called
...then do the same for the next player/pick to be traded, repeating as necessary
...then click "propose trade" and the "approve" button.

Also, what is your team and what team are you trying to trade with? I'll see if I can do a trade with that team.

One thing that seems odd to me (or maybe I'm just doing it wrong) is that I have to remove a player off of my draft board back into the players available list in order to draft him

And oddly, I'm having the opposite problem. In my last pick I couldn't draft from the available list and had to do it via the the draft board. Details, details.

Which, if you are on the clock, will cause the guy at the top of your list to be drafted.

The way I designed the interface,manual drafting and the draft board are kind of mutually exclusive.

However, if you are using the draft board just as a list without using the autopick, I recommend the following. Once you are on the clock, move the guy you want up to the top of your list. Then click autopick. as soon as the screen refreshes, unclick it. The only way you could get messed up doing that is if every owner after you up to your next pick has the autopick turned on, the second ranked player on your draftboard will get drafted with your next pick.

Interfaces are really difficult to design so that they are intuitive.

It does, and it'll draft your top player on the board, so you just need to be ready for that. But then you can turn it back off afterward and mess around with it. I think the best way to go for folks is to have their autopicks turned on and just be sure that they've got their top players lined up and ready to go four or five picks ahead of time.

I may be the odd duck, but my top five may change depending on what three or four go directly in front of me. A portion of the issue may be that in the second league we currently have 8 timed out picks between the two drafts.

My biggest problem with this thing so far is how agonizingly slow the web pages load when messing with the draft board. I think my 33.6 baud modem back in the day was faster.

Yeah, that's something we need to work on. We hadn't done testing on this scale.

Based on the draft patterns, I feel like some people may still be unaware that both drafts are going on. I think I've noticed a couple of times where someone is on the clock in both drafts, and only makes a pick in one. Anyway, as of right now, here's who's on the clock in League 1:
