Don't you think the article might have mentioned this if it were true? Players on NFI aren't exempt from the cap. Teams have the option not to pay them, but it rarely happens. Usually they just pay them some smaller percentage of what they were set to make. But even if it was common for a player to be paid nothing, it would never happen with Berry.

As the article stated, they'll work something out with him. But it's not going to free up $8M in cap space. Probably nowhere near it.

After reading into it more, you're right. They aren't obligated to pay him, but he doesn't automatically fall off the books.

Cut him and sign him to a 1 year 8m contract for the wizards...or better yet hire him for the oil business at his current rate.

Yeah, he lost me with "Bowe having a professional QB" now.

Plus ota rules negotiated in the new cba. Virtually impossible these days for rookies to be a factor. I do think mccluster is missed, but in a different way. Mccluster is more Jason Avant than he is DAT.

I agree, McCluster was a savvy guy that could get open. Problem was on those plays designed to be a bubble screen Dexter would always get tackled by a shoe lace or go flying 3 yards from being hit. Dexter just never seemed to be able to break plays for a long gain on a very consistent basis.

McCluster could have helped us last year, but Avant gave us more. It's too bad they didn't sign Avant before the season started.

Trading Alex smith to some other poor sap franchise like the bills would be a good idea, no?

Simply Red 02-06-2015 09:29 AM

Any chance we could get Tyson Jackson back?

Just joking.

Actually, better yet, to the redskins. They'll overpay.

Is he (Jason) gone from KC - or is it just a situation where we need to poo or get off of the stool, where he is concerned? He had few nice pro-looking routes + grabs. I don't hate him.

Chiefs sign!

MahiMike 02-06-2015 10:43 AM

I wouldn't sign Bowe for $4.

Basically this team is starting to remind me of the 90's Chiefs. Get very close but no cigar. Marty had guys playing over their heads like Andy does. But in the end, your team either has winners or losers.

New England keeps winning Super Bowls with guys that have heart and guts. Guys like Edelman and Amendola would never reach Bowe's talent but when it matters, they come thru.

Cut ties with our weak links that have been on this team more than a few years.
