1.5-1.6 for me.

I remember being a teenager and making a pretty legit clan.

Those were the days.

Those were the ****ing days. I remember convincing my parents to get cable internet so I could have lower ping. It was amazing.

I've gone back to it many times over the years. Never gets old.

I have old games like that - I haven't played them in years, but I could pop them in again and love it. The original KOTOR and Freelancer immediately come to mind.

God, I loved KOTOR. Always thought it was bullshit with all the great series on HBO, Showtime, and the boutique cable channels that they couldn't adapt KOTOR or Mass Effect as episodic television.

Inb4 Firefly.

It was especially fun back in 1999/2000 era when raiding was really discovered in Everquest. Getting 100+ random people on the server to try and break Plane of Fear and Plane of Hate to get corpses until 5am was strangely the best time I'd not want to go through again, hah.

I missed out on all that. My first MMO was WoW, so I guess people already kind of knew how to raid but it was still so fresh back then.

That pretty much describes EQ as a whole. It's hard to describe to somebody who didn't play it, but I've never loved playing another game that I hated so much.

My stepdad played it on lunch break with a bunch of guys.

After he introduced me to it I was constantly sneaking onto my parents computer just to play.

I played through KOTOR over 20 times - every possible class combination, male/female, light and dark side. I opened every container, completed every side quest, ran down every option there was to be chosen. I even once got Zaalbar to kill Mission once. That's hard to do.

Sounds like I should be thankful no one ever introduced me to one.

WoW is an MMO, but StarCraft is a real time simulation (RTS), like Total Annihilation, Command & Conquer, Age of Empires, and the Total War games.

Everquest was my second MMO. Shout out if you go back far enough to have played Shadows of Yserbius on the old INN network.

Easily Borderlands 2 or any of the NCAA Football games on a yearly basis.

BL2 is going to get more though because of the new level cap and new playthrough.

I played the game for about 5 years. Damn near every night from 5:30 to 2AM and then on the weekends about 12 to 16 hours a day.

To say I was addicted is an understatement.

So yeah, i believe him.

I swear at the time Evercrack was more real then my real life. At work all I would think about was tonights raid or something like that. I was in one of the guilds that did all the end game stuff so it was mandatory to log in for so many hours. It was a great time but I packed on about 50 pounds during that time.

What made you finally quit playing it?
