I knew this would underperform... it suffers from Land of the Lost/Speed Racer syndrome, meaning that the much needed younger audiences havent the faintest idea what in the hell its all about because they've never heard of it in their lives.
The parents know, but the kids could care less. |

I heard that the William Tell Overture is in this to great effect...so now I HAVE to see it.

Just watched it. I enjoyed it. Its not nearly as good as PoTC, but its a fun way to spend a few hours. I was actually surprised how serious a western it was.
it has a fair amount of violence in it. And yes the William Tell Overture makes a great appearance during the final action scene which was tremendous. Gore Verbinski truly knows how to build an action scene with scale Posted via Mobile Device |
just got back from seeing it...pretty good flick, imo.

I think I may be officially sick of Johnny Depp. He looks like he's just doing his Jack Sparrow schtick again.

I'm making a generalization based on nothing other than my brain playing leapfrog. That's why I qualified it with the "I may be".

Having said that, I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. Went in with low expectations based upon the harsh reviews, and came out wondering if I just saw the same movie all the critics were blasting. Funny, entertaining plot, and great visuals. I found Tonto's interaction with the dead crow and the horse quite funny. Like someone said, it's dumb fun. Was a bit surprised at a couple of the violent scenes given that it's a Disney flick. I don't rate movies, but I highly recommend seeing it. |
Saw it the other night at the drive in after monsters u. it was alright, not bad enough to leave during. really johnny depps funny lines are the only thing that keeps if afloat
