Drew Lock 6th in the Elite 11:

Quote:

We’ve already pointed out today how well Alabama quarterback commitment Blake Barnett performed in NIKE’s The Opening in Oregon. He led his team to the 7-on-7 championship and truly bonded with future wide receiver teammate Calvin Ridley–who took home MVP honors.

Barnett–who was at one time committed to Notre Dame–finished as the Elite 11 MVP once the week was complete. He came on very strong in the 7-on-7 portion of the camp. Finishing No. 4 was Texas A&M five-star QB commit Kyler Murray, who wasn’t in the initial Elite 11 ranking after the first two days, but cranked it up while in action and shot up the charts in the eyes of the coaches. And Mizzou QB commit Drew Lock dropped a bit from the initial ranking, where he was No. 2, but he still fit in well into the No. 6 spot.

Florida QB commitment Sheriron Jones didn’t make the final Elite 11 ranking, nor did five-star QB/ATH Torrance Gibson, who Auburn and Tennessee covet greatly.

The Elite 11 rankings are derived from how the camp counselors viewed the performances of the QBs from the Sunday session all the way through the Thursday 7-on-7 games. Sunday and Monday were instructional and coaches also checked film to help with the rankings. Then Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday was a mixture of working out with their 7-on-7 teams and also participating in games. The overall week contributed to the final ranking.

Here was the final Elite 11 ranking:

1) Blake Barnett, Alabama commit

2) Ben Hicks, Houston

3) Travis Waller, Oregon

4) Kyler Murray, Texas A&M

5) Brady White, Arizona State

6) Drew Lock, Mizzou

7) Jarrett Stidham, Texas Tech

8) Ricky Town, Southern Cal (former Alabama commit)

9) Deondre Francois, uncommitted (Florida State, Auburn lead)

10) Brandon Wimbush, Penn State

11) Josh Rosen, UCLA

This has to be an upgrade, as Walker was a weird dude who was a lazy-ass recruiter.

Ricker always struck me as a pretty charismatic guy (I interviewed him a few times in college). I could see him being a very effective and energetic recruiter.

Found this:

Quote:

In the 2014 class, Ricker signed three recruits:

Frankort (Ill.) 5.7 three-star offensive center Nick Allegretti; Allegretti chose Illinois over offers from Cincinnati, Northern Illinois, Toledo and Western Michigan ? although he did commit early (March of his Junior year in High School). He was the nation's eighth-ranked center prospect, and the 20th-ranked recruit in the state.

Great Barrington (Mass.) 5.6 three-star offensive tackle Peter Cvijanovic; Illinois is listed as the only offer for Cvijanovic, who ranked 11th overall in the 2014 prep-school rankings ? he's originally from Illinois, and his brother plays for the Illini.

Orange (Texas) 5.3 three-star running back Chris James; James is listed as having an offer from Iowa State, as well. He committed on NSD this past February.

Most notable among the players Ricker recruited, but missed out on, are four-star Carol Stream (Ill.) running back Justin Jackson (signed with Northwestern, also recruited by Missouri) and four-star Chicago offensive lineman Jamarco Jones (signed with Ohio State, offers from all over the country).

In the 2015 class, Ricker gained the commitments of four players, all offensive linemen:

Sacramento (Cali.) 5.3 two-star center Zach Heath; Heath is a JUCO player. Illinois was his only offer.

Medina (Ohio) 5.4 two-star offensive tackle Zeke Martin; Martin's other offers were from MAC schools.

Jacksonville (Ill.) 5.7 three-star offensive tackle Gabe Megginson; Megginson had offers from all over the country, including Missouri, Ohio State, Arkansas, Wisconsin.

Indianapolis (Ind.) 5.6 three-star offensive tackle Adam Solomon; Solomon had offers from Duke, Cincinnati, Indiana and Minnesota, among others.

I'm hearing there is a possibility that he brings a 4 star lineman with him, maybe wishful thinking I know.

Based on what?

I know he's taking some visits with his younger brother, who's a national level recruit in 2016.

Academics are also a factor for Imatorbhebhe, so Notre Dame makes some sense as a place he might visit.

I have no faith anymore, I assume the worst.

OP updated, but formatting from Rivals was a PITA. Sorry.

Anyone know anything about Beckner?

Just got this from SEC Rant. Things are getting bad folks.

"4* OT Madison Akamnonu from Bowie TX (same school as Hansbrough) has canceled his Mizzou visit and is no longer considering the Tigers. We seem to have become toxic sometime after April. That seems to line up with DGB being kicked off the team, so maybe that's being used to negatively recruit against us. Something is up, that's for sure."

rom Madison Akamnonu on why he eliminated Mizzou:

"The coaches, they were telling me the football side, coach
Bedenbaugh gave me a paper that had the facts of Oklahoma, Tech, and
Missouri, and it looked pretty good. Like OU, they were at the top of
everything - or top two, including academics," Akamnonu recalled.

"Missouri is out for me now, I was looking at the stats that
Oklahoma showed me, and I was kind of like 'hmmm' and me and my parents
and I were on our way home and we were talking about it and I said I'm
not really sure if I want to go to Missouri anymore. Then we all came to
the agreement."

I thought you gave up on Mizzou? I see they're back in your sig now. And you're still over-reacting. This time to a 17yo kid who doesn't want to visit anymore and was likely a heavy lean to OU/UT in the first place.

Toxic is hardly the word most sane people would use to describe this "breaking news".

Deny it all you want but the DGB/Sam situations have destroyed the recruiting, I've heard crickets for 4 ****ing months. I will admit the DGB situation was a damned if you do damned if you don't but these kids don't know the whole story and will believe the lies. OU is straight up clowning them in every way possible. It's been too damn quiet, it's time to be concerned.

God damn Mizzou for letting a gay player on the team!
