How about the computer rankings that have Mizzou anywhere from #1 to #10 in the country that you haven't mentioned.

Does "data" somehow prevent you from clarifying your "bottom feeder" comments?

Everything you say blows up in your face as soon as the words leave your lips. It's like watching the Iraqis trying to shoot SAMs at our jets only to have the return fire blow up the missiles before they can even launch.

I know you want soooooo badly to finally have a winner to root for. I mean shit - picking the Chiefs/Royals/Mizzou is the Bermuda Triangle of losers. At least most of your fellow Mizzou fans get the Cardinals. You're stuck with nothing but turds.

I can see why you're so angry all the time. Do what most Mizzou fans do and cheer on the Cards. It'll calm your ass down quicker than a valium.

Now the KU fan is talking baseball shit? Is that going to be your new thing? Your $25 SRO tickets for Mizzou football smack just not landing, or what?

It's going to be interesting to see if the Mizzou fans on this board change a bit if the Tigers have a Championship season this year in football. I find them to be very similar to teams that have never won anything. Most winners can show respect to their opponents and realize that there are good and bad years instead of constant mediocrity.

You use 'data' that you've either selectively utilized or flat out created and when challenged on it, you disappear. Or you simply change the topic.

You're a drive-by troll of a poster. You'll offer your talking point and when it's promptly fed to you, you offer a new talking point that can easily be dissected as the half-truth and/or flat out nonsense it is. Rinse and repeat...

All his questions in that post, and your "response", pretty good summary of thia thread.

ESPN just updated the attendance to the Texas Tech at Kansas game to reflect 35k.

How many titles does it take to learn that? It doesnt seem like winning 3 is enough.

If only we exhibited all the class and humility you typically see from Beakers ROFL

I've already said in this thread that I:

1. Said I thought this was Mizzou's year to really do something.

2. Bet $10 on them to beat Georgia against some SEC prick who wouldn't shut up about how Mizzou sucked and they could never win in the SEC. I obviously won the bet.

3. Kept giving up my time while on vacation at the Ritz Carlton running out from the bar to give my new Mizzou grad friend updates on the game. He was working as a valet but hey man, times are tough. ;)

As I said earlier, you often hear fans of Big 12 schools (like jack harry) saying they know some Missouri fan who confided in them that they wish we were still in the Big 12, but you never actually meet anyone who thinks that.

I suspect these dodo are even harder to find in the wild, after last week's win.

Living deep in the SEC's footprint, my experience is that we have earned a lot of respect from fans, at least in this area. The idea was that a top 4 or so team coming over from the Big 12 would be a bottom feeder in the SEC. I think we are right where we expected to be, middle of the road in the conference in year two. We nearly beat Georgia last year, beat them in their house this year, and we took Florida to the last play in their house last year.

The feeling around here is much the same as it is with our fans, this is nice and will help recruiting, to be a credible SEC football program, not just a member of the conference. Are we realistically going to beat South Carolina or whomever wins the west? Probably not, and of course not.

But we're not only here, we are showing we belong here. And we can build from that.

Fans are myopic, SEC fans are no different. They assume b/c the SEC is the best league in the country it means that all their bottom feeders would finish in the top half of other leagues. Last year was a weird year w/ the six best teams in the league being so good that they would have contended for the Big XII, PAC 12, ACC, & Big East. That is not to say they would have all won all those leagues but they were good enough.

That is an anomaly. Usually it's more like our #1 is better than your #1, #2 > your #2 or #1, #3 > your #3 or #2, and so forth. And even then it's more like we'd go 6-4 or 7-3 head to head in those matchups. Not that the 6th or 7th best team would necessarily beat the 2nd best Big 12 team for example.

So voila they are shocked when MU proves to be competent when healthy. Well, I'd submit that the Big 12 has been a very good football league for years and MU's ability to compete in that league should have been evidence enough that this was possible. The assumptions that we were the second coming of Kentucky football were not based in reality. We're not going to win the league but we won't embarrass ourselves either most years.

Far too many simpletons that are close minded and unwilling to just follow the evidence.

Having trouble following you. Computer rankings are always welcome by me because they're factual and a fool would argue against them. I'm glad Saul is finally seeing the benefit of discussing the computers rather than crazy rants. I don't use them selectively at all, and even said Mizzou left the poverty ranks this year. But let's see how it plays out before we declare them some type of national power.

When Ole Miss takes Texas behind the woodshed in Austin, what are SEC fans supposed to think?

Yep that's fair. I think we could have won the Big 12, that's something we were capable of b/c we only need to jump a couple powers in a given year. There are too many powers in the SEC making it virtually impossible to jump them all, which is why the big 6 has won the last 50 SEC titles or whatever the # is. But it's either that or slip into irrelevance in the Big Ten and get our asses kicked w/ a roster full of slow white guys by Big 12 and SEC schools in our bowl game..

The BIG is easily the best conference to me overall with their collection of excellent schools. Long term they're near the top in both major sports and academically they're quite prestigious which is why Jay Nixon made the statement he did about joining them.

I normally associated Mizzou with Kansas, Iowa and Illinois rather than Kentucky, Ole Miss and Arkansas. But I'm not an alum so that may not be the perception of folks around the state particularly in St Louis where most of them are.
