Kobe and Lebron are both in the top ten. Where did they play their college ball, again.

It's hard to take college basketball seriously when the best players don't even bother playing in college. Now that the NBA changed it's policy, you get one year mercenaries. meh

Bambi's been the king of 'endowment' smack talk for years.

Prison Bitch is now trying to make his own niche with attendance and his idiotic 'bottom feeder' approach.

Both of them are pretty much on their own in here because the rest of the Kansas fans want nothing to do with the clowns.

Don't forget Lord Sagarin.

People look at college football as just as irrelevant when discussing pro football. Not even close. There's a reason why there's concentration of college football focus in the Southern area of the country.

But when College Basketball ranks second only to the NFL in regards to advertising dollars you can expect many people to care deeply about it.

The Championships are really fun.

Literally nine months from now the guy's going to be wearing a Pelicans jersey.

Interesting sport to fawn over.

Lovin that move right about now. Paid off much sooner it appears than most thought.

As I said earlier, you often hear fans of Big 12 schools (like jack harry) saying they know some Missouri fan who confided in them that they wish we were still in the Big 12, but you never actually meet anyone who thinks that.

I suspect these dodo are even harder to find in the wild, after last week's win.

Living deep in the SEC's footprint, my experience is that we have earned a lot of respect from fans, at least in this area. The idea was that a top 4 or so team coming over from the Big 12 would be a bottom feeder in the SEC. I think we are right where we expected to be, middle of the road in the conference in year two. We nearly beat Georgia last year, beat them in their house this year, and we took Florida to the last play in their house last year.

The feeling around here is much the same as it is with our fans, this is nice and will help recruiting, to be a credible SEC football program, not just a member of the conference. Are we realistically going to beat South Carolina or whomever wins the west? Probably not, and of course not.

But we're not only here, we are showing we belong here. And we can build from that.

Yeah, it's not like he is your homegrown guy or a player you developed... he stopped by for a year to increase his draft stock.

College football is irrelevant to pro football? I thought they gave each starter the opportunity to rep their colleges in the introductions. Just about every player loves to give a shout out to their alma mater...except for that cornerback for the Patriots who was ashamed of his college and decided to identify himself by his high school.

Jesus, over $1.3 million for 30 seconds worth of advertising.

Maybe college football's Championship numbers can equal one day but who knows?

You better get to work convincing America it's not worth "fawning" over. You're falling behind.

Saul Good 10-15-2013 09:42 AM

I understand how a Big 12 fan doesn't think college football is popular.

Four games this week between ranked teams...three are SEC.

My "niche" is using data to support my arguments. This is a controversial technique that has not quite made it's way to the campus of Mizzou....but I predict someday that it will.

Like the "data" you completely made up that I called you on and you failed to respond?

How about the computer rankings that have Mizzou anywhere from #1 to #10 in the country that you haven't mentioned.

Does "data" somehow prevent you from clarifying your "bottom feeder" comments?

Everything you say blows up in your face as soon as the words leave your lips. It's like watching the Iraqis trying to shoot SAMs at our jets only to have the return fire blow up the missiles before they can even launch.
