I've never seen this guy play, but I'd be willing to bet he flanks a lot. Being immune to showing up on the mini map is ****ing essential in order to execute the ill flank. Nothing worse than being a corner or two away from flanking the entire enemy team and hearing they got a UAV while you don't have coldblooded/ghost/assassin.

Without a doubt. For some reason, players just don't look to their sides or behind them often enough. They probably should, because there's gonna be some ****face with a shotgun sprinting up behind them. LMAO

There have been rumors that zombies will have their own campaign in addition to regular zombies. If the rumors are true I bet that teaser is part of the zombies campaign.

A map that only takes place on a bus doesn't make sense to me, it's too small. Where would the perk machines, wall weapons, and random box be? I'm sure they could figure it out but I bet it's part of a zombies campaign mode.

Quickscopers are the worst. Campers I'll just come back in a bit and kill you because you have'nt moved. Quickscopers can kill you with one shot and it takes no skill. Heck, they can run around the corner with a .50 cal and just fire off a bunch of rounds and kill you faster than a SMG.

To further expand, there is a built in auto assist, so when you zoom in real quick and fire the round it always hits when doing it correctly.. It is complete BS that it is in there..

Zombies in Black Ops 2 will boast new playable characters, new special zombies, and new weaponry, some of it based on future tech of the game's 2025 setting. Treyarch also promises guns familiar to Zombies fans, plus "some new zombie weaponry." Much of that is still to be officially revealed, though the Black Ops 2 Zombies trailer released today is packed with hints of Treyarch's new offerings.

Treyarch says the evolution of Zombies, especially its new competitive multiplayer mode, has been driven by the Call of Duty community.

""We have so much fun making this game mode. It's really taken off and that's thanks to the community.""

"One of the things our community has told us is that the love the game but they want to play it in different ways," said Treyarch studio head Mark Lamia at a press event this week. In addition to classic Survival mode, in which players will fend off waves of undead, two additional Zombies modes will ship with Black Ops 2.

Tranzit is Zombies' new story-based campaign set in an "expansive world" for players to explore. "It's massive," Lamia said, describing an open area game world with interconnected zones. Players will have access to transportation, the fortified bus seen in Zombies mode's first trailer, to travel from map to map. The bus provides players with shelter, Treyarch says, "but it's also a confined space, so it comes with its own issues." Players will be able to fight on the bus as it transports the team. They'll also be able to get off the anti-zombie bus, "go out into the fog" to explore, and search for items and new dangers.

Lamia said Tranzit mode will feature player-created items, "buildables" that can be used as weapons or a means of defense. Black Ops 2 Zombies' new trailer shows DIY assault shields, which like their Black Ops 2 multiplayer equivalents, can be planted to provide mobile cover.

Information on the new Zombies game mode "Grief"

Quote:

Also new is Grief, a new competitive mode that pits humans versus humans versus zombies — nicknamed "4z4" mode by Lamia — in a last team standing battle for survival. In Grief, players can't directly shoot each other to kill the opposing team, Lamia says. Only zombies can take out a team of humans.

"But you can make their lives harder," he teased, adding that the mode is built on the foundation of "griefing" player-harassment game mechanics that give it its name.

Grief will be playable in matches of two to eight players in various team-sizes. As in Survival, players will control teams comprised of agents from two United States government agencies: the CIA and CDC. The four playable characters seen in Tranzit appear to be unique to that game mode.

Treyarch says it will implement features of Black Ops 2's standard multiplayer into Zombies competitive and cooperative modes, including skill-based matchmaking and custom game options. Custom Zombies games will permit players to choose their starting round, opt for a headshots-only difficulty challenge, and disable magic items (Pack-A-Punch vending machines, mystery boxes, perks).

There's still more to be revealed about Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, including new details that will be unveiled later this week.

Zombie Modes

Treyarch revealed three modes during its preview event, detailing them in a presentation at the end of a day of multiplayer hands-on. One mode will be instantly recognizable to fans of other Treyarch Call of Duty games.

'Tranzit' adds scale to the original gametype, and acts as the primary mode for zombie players. Rather than be stuck in one location, players are free to explore a "big, giant, expansive world." Calling it "significantly bigger than anything [Treyarch has] ever created," Lamia promises players (playing solo or up to four-players co-op) can traverse on foot or via the bus featured in the zombies world premiere trailer above.

"Because it's open and because there are multiple locations in this world where you can play and where the infestation is, there's different strategies about how you can approach it," he adds. "It's a much bigger world with much more going on." Moving through the world in the bus has tactical advantages, such as speed; however, it isolates players and can become very difficult to escape from. Going it on foot "into the fog" – which players can do by themselves or as part of the group – also has its perks, but puts players in the middle of danger.

To aid in their survival, players can collect pieces of items from throughout the world, putting them together to create "buildables"; including weapons, tools and things to help open new areas of the world.

'Survival' has the "more classic zombies vibe," where zombie aggressors attack the player within a single area from the "expansive" Tranzit world. From its description, things work relatively the same as they have in the past: hole up, fortify your location and venture out to grab bonuses scattered throughout the environment when you find the right moment.

Survival areas are "carved out" of the Tranzit world and customized by Treyarch to act much like dedicated maps. Though Lamia wouldn't give an exact number, he promised players will have access to "multiple areas" in Survival that are designed to be played as a standalone section (solo or as a 4-player co-op experience). These areas feature the same gameplay zombie fans are used to, including magic items and 'Pack-a-Punch' machines.

'Grief' is a new mode, available for up to 8 players that takes the concept of Survival and adds a competitive twist. In this mode, two teams of four players are dropped within the zombie-infested Tranzit world and must outlive the opposing team.

"This is what I've called in the past '4z4,'" Lamia says, detailing a mode that breaks down to a simple descriptor of Humans vs. Humans vs. Zombies. "It's really humans versus zombies, because the zombies don't care what team you're on. They just want human flesh and brains."

In this mode, human players cannot kill each other; however, they can play with the world to put the opposing team in precarious situations – hence the name 'Grief.' The last human team standing wins the match.

Standard elements like blocking passages seem to be on the docket to make the other team's life harder, but Lamia says there are "new mechanics exclusive to this mode" that players can employ to grief the other team with. When pressed for details, Lamia wouldn't budge on what those elements are.

How the Multiplayer Engine Changes Things

In Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, the zombies mode has been built on the multiplayer engine. In the past, Treyarch has stated this decision allows the developer to do new things it was unable to do in previous iterations. But what does that mean?

Stat tracking: Zombie fans will now have "extensive stats" attached to their monster hunting sessions, much like multiplayer fans have in the competitive part of the game.

Leaderboards: Stat tracking transitions into leaderboards for each zombie mode and can be broken down in detailed ways, like ranking based on maps. As an example, Lamia says players could check rankings for Survival in one particular area. "That will have its own leaderboard," Lamia added, mentioning detailed breakdowns for the other modes as well. "A lot more leaderboards, a lot more stats."

Improved Matchmaking: Using the multiplayer system, the game will attempt to match players faster than it has in the past. Because stats are tracked, Lamia says, Treyarch "will do [its] best" to match players with similar skill in the zombies mode. Of course, players can jump in and play with friends or anyone of varied skill levels if they choose.

Custom Games: "Now we're going to let you create custom games of the modes I just talked about," Lamia says. Creating a custom zombie game, players can make a series of decisions including setting a starting round (with players given points at the beginning of the match that are relative to the round choice, so players can purchase weapons and items to help them survive), you can set challenges like 'Headshots Only' at the beginning of the match or at specific rounds, turn magic items off (no perk machines, no 'Pack-a-Punch,' no mystery boxes). Lamia says there will be a laundry list of tweaks players can make.
http://www.joystiq.com/2012/09/26/ca...lshare_twitter

I can't wait to see what that "campaign" part of zombies is like. It probably won't be as good as I'd like it to be but maybe Treyarch can build on it and make their own stand alone "DayZ" type game.

I feel bad for the HC players because this game isn't really made for it. You can't just camp in the back of the map with a silenced sniper rifle and Ghost anymore because you will show up on the radar during UAV's if you sit still.

Yeah I'm not sure how much of a fan I am of that. I use the ghost perk but I move a lot. However, when I see someone coming on UAV I'll duck behind something quick and wait for them to get around the corner rather than running at them. How long do I have to be still before they can see me?

This won't affect my flanking maneuvers but I'm not a fan of ghost being nerfed. I use it to get the drop on people...not to camp. If I can't stand somewhere for say..two seconds...before I show up on radar than how is it giving me an advantage over the rubes who aren't using ghost that are about to run around the corner? They'll know I'm waiting for them and will either stop or run away.

I'll have to modify my shotty class a little bunch, but hopefully not too much. I usually run 95% of the time anyways. Only when i see someone coming do i stop.

Yeah I'm running all the time as well. I'm just afraid that when I see someone coming and stop (while flanking) I'll show up on radar and their whole team will realize I'm flanking them. I silence my weapons for just that purpose. They may not realize their teammate is dying from the side rather than in front...but they'll definitely notice if a big red dot shows up.

On my screen I blasted the dude 5 times to not get one hit marker and then the kill cam shows me not shooting at all. That's the type of shit I can't stand and it leads me to camp.

I silence my weapons for just that purpose. They may not realize their teammate is dying from the side rather than in front...but they'll definitely notice if a big red dot shows up.

A UAV sweeps once every 3 seconds I think. I don't see what the big deal is if you show up on 1 single UAV sweep. You will be gone by the time it sweeps again.

Because then they know to turn left (or right). I'm never around my teammates because all they do is get me killed. I'm sweeping in from the side while they're distracting from the front. If I see a red dot to my side I'm turning and I'm expecting him to be moving towards me.

That is a fairly common game of TDM now. When you are playing against people who play like that it sucks all of the fun out of the game.

and that video he tells the truth. Why should you run around? It's way less effective than camping. You have to evolve with the game.

in COD4 I was the most anti camper there was and swore to never camp, but you evolve or you die.

If you move around as much as you say you do it shouldn't be much of a problem for you. I mean, how often do you actually sit completely still? The only time I do is when I am expecting a few guys to turn a corner. And so what if you show up on their UAV in that scenario? You should want them to try to engage you when you have your sites up already. It's a free kill.

I never wear Ghost or use a suppressor in Black Ops and it has worked out well for me. Showing up on the radar once or twice a game isn't that big of a deal IMO.

A corner camper is pretty easy to take out if you know he is there. Black Ops 2 will be much more rusher friendly than MW3 is.

as long as it plays clean I am good with that. But in MW3, 90% of the time I get the beat on someone I lose, it's ridiculous. That lag comp really ****ed me over.

They need to alter it some. If you are a sniper and prone you do not show up silenced, but if you are moving/jumping/dolphin diving/shooting with a sniper rifle or combination of the 2 you show up. ****ing quickscopers.

They definitely screwed the game up for people who like to hide in bushes and snipe with silenced sniper rifles. I think they should tweak how Ghost works in hard core modes because a lot of people like playing that way in hard core.

oh man, that was the absolute best time I've ever had in a COD game. That javelin glitch was pure GOLD! It was so awesome. I would get blazed as shit, run around with that thing and knife people. Once people caught on they were so scared to shoot me and would try to run away, then I would catch them and knife them. Tons of multi kills too. Would often go 60-40 or something like that. Good times man. Good times.

I wasn't till MW2 came out that I learn how to be better at the game. I mixed it up alot on both BO and MW2 but became a full blown runner on MW3 with my lovely ACR

Combat Training

To increase confidence levels of players who see more Kill Cam than game, Treyarch has focused its attention on Combat Training, the mode meant to introduce players to multiplayer basics against AI controlled bots.

Combat Training users can earn XP and level their online soldier in a mode dubbed 'Boot Camp.' In this mode, players face off against a mixture of human players and bots in matches of TDM. Players can earn full XP and level up to a maximum level of 10, which Game Design Director David Vonderhaar refers to as "graduating."

If comfort levels aren't high enough to jump into the fray online, players can stay within Combat Training and play through its 'Objective' mode, where two teams of six (3 players, 3 bots) compete in objective-based modes. Players can rank up past level 10 in this mode, but are only given half the XP they would earn online.

'Bot Stomp' is an experience point-free mode where teams of six players battle six bots in any gametype they choose. Playing this mode is a great way to practice skills, learn maps and modes, and is a "really good way for newer players to experience the high end game," Vonderhaar says. All modes also include public matchmaking, to make finding optimal games easier.

Just heard that the higher end killstreaks are very hard to get. If you are playing Domination and are strictly going for kills, it would be harder to get Dogs than it would be to get a MOAB in MW3.

This dude has a legitimate concern. I really hate camping and the way it affects my game when I find a lobby full of those douchebags.

He was bitching about the martyrdom/IMS kill but that was legit. He really couldn't have done anything and the guy wasn't wrong for setting up an IMS in a high traffic area. Even the best players die every once in a while.

Thank goodness. I know this group of guys that played MW2 back in the day. They used to talk shit to me and my friends about how awesome they were because they dropped nukes all the time.............. on Hardcore Headquarters! ****ing bundle of stickss, man, I tell ya. The object of the game was to capture HQs, not sit back and pick off people actually trying to complete the objectives.
