It's going to be painful but we need to cut the fat.

If you aren't playing up to your salary then you need to take a pay cut or hit the bricks.

Too many guys not earning their money.

Never should have extended a 30-year old smallish RB in the first place. It's like THE cardinal rule in the NFL. When players turn 30 they are almost always done, especially at high-impact positions.

It looks like we are going to have around 35 million in cap space locked up to an OLB and S. One with injury issues and the other with cancer. There's are Franchise QB money.

The other figure you pulled out from who knows where is moon math because the top 51 rule ends as the season starts.

Yes, you add a whopping 2 players at around $500k each to that figure for the 53-man, which brings you from 1.6 to 2.6 million (right on my 2.5 figure practically), plus your 10-man scout team, which is cheap as ****. If all make the minimum 6600 per week for 17 weeks, that's 1.112 million. So, 3.7 million is the ultimate cost of your rookies, plus 2 for the 53, plus 10 practice squad players. That's nowhere near 7 million. In fact, it's not even close.

I can't help it if you can't comprehend it, sorry.

Dude is 26 years old I don't understand why we are not considering this move.

$$$. If the Chiefs were to sign Kendricks, they would need a new deal because we can't take a $4.85M hit in 2017.

BossChief 03-12-2017 10:31 AM

I don't get it.

Unless the guy is screaming about getting a new contract or there's something about him we dont know....make a move with Colquitt and Reid and make that trade.

Maybe Andy/John know something about him that they really don't like.

I guess that he might be wanting a lot of money or something. But signing him to a new deal should not be that hard of an accomplishment.

The Franchise 03-12-2017 11:26 AM

Trade for him and rework his deal. Kind of like we did with Grubbs.

BossChief 03-12-2017 12:21 PM

No way would I redo the deal. Trade for that cheap contract or draft someone.

New contract would cost too much...even if back loaded.

Dunerdr 03-12-2017 01:45 PM

Surely with our Pedersen connection we could talk him into something we've got for him right?

Chief Northman 03-12-2017 01:53 PM

Is Kendricks some all-pro all of a sudden? There are reasons you trade a guy who should be entering his prime for a late round pick on a mid-tier contract.

Hilarious how the grass is always greener elsewhere each and every off-season.

Yeah and when the reasons are your transitioning from 3-4 to 4-3 some ones gonna make out alright on the deal.

BossChief 03-12-2017 02:59 PM

Give em Charcandrick West and Jah Reid for Kendricks.
