The scene after the credits didn't hint anything towards that at all.

They've already announced Godzilla vs Kong. Supposed to be a 2020 release.

Right, but the after credits isn't really forshadowing KvG is what I'm saying (based on the monsters shown). I hope to god they dont mash them all in the same film.

It would just be a remake of the original Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster which stared Godzilla, Rodan, Mothera (in larval form) and Ghidorah.

Of course cramming three monster origin stories in one movie could yield less than stellar results, see Suicide Squad.

That would be interesting how they try to play the story out. I can see Godzilla, mothra and rodan being on the earth 'long before' humans ruled, however when you bring ghidorah in now your mixing space monsters controlled by aliens. would be cool either way. A monster island remake could work even with kong mixed in.

True, but that's a given at this point.

I'm not sure how they're going to do it, honestly. Rodan, Mothra and King Ghidorah all introduced in a movie in which they have Kong and Zilla facing off would be too much.

I'm all out of ideas as to how they'll get Kong off Skull Island for the fight in the first place. This incarnation is way too ****ing big for that shit.

ThaVirus 03-21-2017 05:58 PM

And they had cave paintings of all of those monsters, including a showdown between Zilla and Ghidorah.

So where the **** have all these big ass monsters been hiding all this time? I can buy the Godzilla "they retreated to the bottom of the ocean to be nearer to the Earth's radiation story and Kong was basically trapped on Skull Island, but what about the others?

They could go down the same path as Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack where Ghidorah is not an alien controlled monster from space. Rather "he" is a guardian beast (along with Mothera and Baragon) that fights Godzilla.

It's a change in the established cannon of Godzilla but it could work.

Mothra's descendant sprouts out of a egg, King Ghidorah is in slumber since the Cretaceous–Paleogene meteor of the Dino extinction. Rodan around the same era also is in slumber due to said meteor .

Which would convey that nukes are useless against the Daikaiju

Concerning the cave paintings, they'll use the old Godzilla fallback of clairvoyance, premonition, or prophecy.

This movie was definitely entertaining, but it was really really dumb. Looked like they spent every single bit of effort on the CGI s'plosions, and like 5 minutes working on the plot and dialog.

Also, RIP John Goodman. They did a great job with his CGI character.
