I'm just guessing, but it probably wont ever get that serious, tone-wise.

It doesn't have to be serious at all, Phil can just say " Yep well everyone died" Like it was as common as washing clothes in a dark comedy manner.

This show could have been alot better if they took it a different direction, and made the lead character a little more likeable. I guess he's somewhat likeable, but he's just too much of a doofus for me to really get into.

I love that idea.

I still think they need to change locales because I think you'd have new challenges and could keep things fairly interesting that way but it would be pretty damn funny if they open up next season and he's in a driving rainstorm talking to a soccer ball about that time that everybody died like it's nothing.

Yeah, this show became waaay too predictable. It's the same exact formula over and over again. I think the last episode killed off any hope i had left.

Honestly this show was way funnier before any people showed up, and it gets progressively worse each time they introduce new characters. It would be better if it was more of a wandering tale around the Earth.
