OR I add a few boxes of ammo to an existing order of something else from Midway. If I'm buying gun parts, cleaner, cases/holsters, etc...shipping price will be pretty much the same with or without the ammo.

I bought four boxes (80 total rnds) of 7.62 x 54r at $5 a box with $18 in shipping.

Two weeks ago I bought 500 rounds of 7.62 x39 for $110 with the $18 in shipping.

I'm going to kick myself in a month when I have to buy more mosin nagant ammo, should have bit the bullet, cried all day and bought the 440 rnd tin can for $110

Its a first generation scope. works well out 130 yards or so. Has an illumination light that mounts to the top of the scope.

works great on AR-flat tops, pumps or any semi auto . not so good with bolt actions. it will work with bolt actions, but you will have to have the bolt handle bent by a gun smith

Some questions:

What is the magnification?
Is it functional in daylight, or just at night?

LiveSteam 05-08-2011 02:56 PM

X 3. & you can use it in the day time.It has the day cap for the lens. But I wouldn't take it out in the sun if I could avoid it. That goes for all night vision equipment. Any sun light is bad bad bad.

I guess as long as this is bumped, here's the latest rendition.

Gone are the flash suppressor, grip/light combo and bulky UTG rail guards. Added are the sling mount and sling, Miculek compensator, ladder style rail covers, back up iron sights, and TrebMaxx's bipod.

So it basically falls into the really-cool-toy-with-no-practical-applications-unless-you're-a-****ing-commando category, right?

I'd definitely put it on some quick change mounts atleast!

That sounds like a great idea. Doesn't seem like the type of thing you'd want on a rifle all the time.

Live Steam, I'm going to mull this over for a while and hope somebody else jumps on it and saves me from my **** YEAH BUY IT demons.

But I can only hold them at bay for so long. :D

Question for you AR experts out there. I have scoped my AR with a 3-9 scope, but left the original front sight on the gun. Should that be removed before shooting it in or will the scope just "look beyond" the front sight and make no difference. Also when you attach the scope rings do you torque them to spec or just tighten them down?

Thanks in advance.

rockymtnchief 05-08-2011 05:03 PM

I left my front sight alone. I dont see it at all through my scope.

Dunit35 05-08-2011 06:40 PM

Took me awhile, but I put the original wood stock back on the Sks. It has a black synthetic stock with a pistol grip also. I loved the synthetic stock but I also dig the original wood stock. I'm torn as to which one I want to leave on permanently.

Couldnt get the damn handgaurd to come off, had to leave it black.

That is very tempting for hunting wild hogs. Unfortunately I can't see myself having the time to go hog hunting in the near future but wish I did.

Looks great. I think it looks better now than it did with the flashlight vertical grip you had. If I may offer another sugestion it would be to add just a plain old, lightest weight vertical grip. But really, what you have is looking sharp, lite, and highly functional.

Thanks. As far as the grip goes, I really didn't care for it. I might at some point give the Magpul angled grip a try, but I'm fine with the feel of it as is.
