Probably true. Only the true major conferences will wind up with their own networks...B1G, SEC, and PAC. Nobody really gives a shit about the rest. Can't say that I blame them...

Possibly. Hopefully schools from other conferences will be able to secure their own networks dedicated to themselves.

oh wait...

Wait a minute...I thought it was pathetic to point out the successes of other schools in your conference...also, Saul crushing souls in this thread like its just another Thursday night. How you two keep coming back for more is beyond me.

Absolutely. Texas is a perfect example. Now...if only they could find a team desperate enough to let them air their conference game on the Longhorn Network.

Oh wait...

Oh wait...

More people nationwide will watch the KU-Texas Football game through the Jayhawk Network than they will through the Longhorn Network.

It is what it is.

It really is a problem everywhere. I have attended games in Big 12, Big 1G and SEC stadiums recently and the student sections are usually pretty spacious.

At UF there is a lottery you have to win in order to get the right to buy student tickets to a particular game. They all get sold, just not all used. Last time I was there plenty of students were around me in non-student areas. The student section was pretty full but not as full as the rest of the stadium, which was probably 90%. Maybe it's a hassle to transfer them or maybe college students are just lazyasses about getting up on Saturdays...?

Absolutely stunning that 1/3 of the student allotment at Alabama goes unused. Wow, that is just.....wow.

In college sports, the only teams who viewers care about are the big names. Conferences don't mean anything. Nobody in the USA cares about Mizzou, they care about LSU and Alabama. Conference affiliation can't make Mizzou popular. All they do is provide LSU & Bama more wins. You can't sell Mizzou-Vanderbilt to the public.

"Networks" don't pick up crap schools (Mizzou) that nobody wants to see in either sport. TV execs know that all too well.

Nobody cares about Mizzou...not even the butthurt Kansas fans who spend all their free time on Mizzou message boards.

Just found it's funny that Saul has resorted to Iowa State to make the Big 12 look bad and they go ahead and win on the road. Blowing up in his face as usual.

Maybe in your small social circle they don't....but here in SEC and B1G country I find all kinds of people who not only know about Mizzou, but can actually carry on a pretty good conversation about them.

While you try to make yourself feel better by putting your fingers in your ears and pretending that MU's affiliation with the SEC doesn't give them better coverage the opposite is exactly true.

What did I do again? I asked if Paul Rhoades needed to win this game in order to save his job. Tulsa is one of the worst teams in college football. Losing to them after already losing to an FCS school would likely have put him on a very hot seat. Not sure how that blew up in my face.

Sounds like you have resorted to pulling for Iowa State to beat Tulsa in order to prop up the Big 12. That might be a new level of sad.
