And that LB is almost by him before he gets there.

He'll probably resign here for vet min and rot on the bench.

All you have to base on Weigmann's play in Chicago was that he started some games.

Allen and Fulton have also started some games in their young careers.

Meanwhile, remember the Kyle Turley acquisition? There was no way of the Chiefs knowing what Roaf was capable of after his injury, especially in 2003 when sports medicine wasn't as much of a sure thing as it is these days. It would be similar to the Chiefs calling up Jake Long and saying, "You're our new starting LT. Hope you're healed up, because we'll need you."

And Brian Waters? Don't get me ****ing started. I was only a n00b on Chiefs Planet when Waters went through his first training camp with the Chiefs, but I remember the skepticism and the bitching when Vermeil confidently plugged Waters in as the starting guard and said, "This guy will do great things."

Vermeil has always had that effect on certain players, and I think we've seen it enough plenty of times in the 5 years with the team. But the point is that Waters was perhaps the first real example of the him going with this guy out of ****ING NOWHERE to contribute serious starting snaps for the team.

Andy Reid isn't Vermeil, and Eric Kush/Mitch Morse isn't Casey Weigmann, and Jeff Allen isn't Brian Waters yadda yadda. But I find it to be disingenuous that the indications we've been given from a few training camp reports and the first preseason game is that the guys we've got on this roster can somehow group together to form an offensive line that will be greatly improved from 2014.

The only people saying that won't be the case at this point are you, Bob Fescoe, and Adam Teicher (who is predicting injuries for EVERYBODY on the team).

He was never as good as everyone claimed he was.

Basically this. Injuries wrecked his career.

And that's why he is ahead of Fulton. The guy did a great job at LG. He is better than Fulton IMO.
